Hardest hitting NHL game I've seen in years. And 0 PIM with 4 mins to go.

Was rooting for islanders but 11 shots? Are you serious?

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Barry Trotz is on to the second round. How is the team that fired him doing?

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Funny thing is that my North Stars hatred hasn't gone away either and it doesn't carry over to the Stars or the Wild.

Just a phantom team that no longer exists...

Yeah, if CHI somehow left, and then got a new team, I doubt I'd hate them. I don't hate the Stars, either. It wasn't the team's fault. It was the owner (and partially MN, if you read Lou Nanne's book, which is excellent).

By the way, it's 9:31 and Norm Green still sucks.

Watched a few other videos that came up with the Secord one that I shared and my blood started boiling like 1991.

It's funny how those latent emotions can come right back after so many years.

The Hawks are much better now (obviously) than they were back then, having won 2 titles, but **** I miss the NHL of the 80s and early 90s - my heyday as a fan of the Hawks.

Goddammit Red Wings. *sigh*

Also, my wife was two numbers off from winning the 50/50

That ain't fair. There's a shelf life. Nashville sucked last year anyway. He and laviolette have completely different styles. Capitals would have lost to chicago too. Plus nashville was without weber.

Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

Watching the Isles game (and series) reminded me of too many Notre Dame games this season, a PP that utterly failed, and an odd reluctance to shoot the puck tonight. I can't recall a playoff game I have watched with fewer shots. You won't win a game taking 11 shots. You won't win a series going 0-14 on the PP. The Islanders own the NHL (and North American professional sports) record for consecutive playoff series wins, 19. Last night makes 7 straight series losses.

Kronwall will have a hearing on his "Kronwalling" of the Lightning's Kucherov last night.

After the NHL finds out if their Red Wings will be available for prime tv slots.

Gotta think that the Hawks are a better draw these days.

Certainly seem to be on national broadcasts more than just about anyone else.

I think they have done a pretty good job staggering the game times simply based on time zone rather than what's the more attractive game. Now, that certainly comes into play when determining what will be on CNBC vs. NBS Sports Network. But if Detroit wins and is playing Montreal, those games are going to start at either 7 or 7:30. And based on NBC's past, take a look at the regular season. Are there ever Canadian teams involved in the NBC game of the week? I think NBC is more interested in New York-Washington and Chicago-Minnesota.

Another thing to consider is that the United Center is used by the Bulls as well.

And a possible game 7 against the Bucks is scheduled there for Friday night.

Kuc (Chicago version of Russo) is reporting that second round schedule coming soon. Implying today.

I'm guessing Thursday for game 1.
