Re: NHL 2015, Part II - Stanley Cup Playoff Race and Beyond

If regulation and overtime wins are the first tiebreaker, why does the Caps shootout win count as much as the Isles OT win as far as the next tiebreaker, head-to-head action? If the NHL wants to use the shootout to determine a "winner" for every game, own the dam n thing. All wins should be equal. And if they are not, then shouldn't the same rule apply to all tiebreakers? The Isles should be the home team for this game by the NHLs own logic.

If the NHL had any brains, they'd make it 3 points for a win in regulation, 2 points for an OT or shootout win and 1 point for an OT or SO loss. But brains in the NHL? Viva Las Vegas!!

I don't know the intricacies of the tiebreakers. But I do know they didn't change them the day before the playoffs. So it's the Isles own fault they aren't at home.

If you want them to change for next year that's cool.

Why are people acting like tonight is do-or-die for the Islanders?

Just in case the transformer blows, the Verizon Center loses power and the game can't be played.

Welp, I see that I'll be watching the Tigers by 8:05 tonight.

It is our own fault. We choked the final ten games, otherwise we'd have had the 2-seed and home ice.

Redemption tonight. 21 years is a long time.

If the NHL had any brains, they'd never have adopted the shootout.

First 30 secs of Isles-Caps looks like it's going to be a 60-minute brawl.

First off, aren't you a Devil's fan?

I wasn't a Devils fan until the North Stars left. It was then my right as a fan of the sport to choose a team of my liking. This is part of Rule 19 for Sports Fans:

19. Once you choose a team, you're stuck with that team for the rest of your life ... unless one of the following conditions applies:
Your team moves to another city. All bets are off when that happens. In fact, if you decided to turn off that sport entirely, nobody would blame you. [my note: there are more situations, covered in the link below]

I have no problem with you being a Devils fan - not that it would matter if I did.

Was just wondering if you had adopted a second team.

I'm happy for the Wild and would like them to do well, sure, with them being the hometown team. Will I be running around the living room cheering? Naw.

My 'Hawks hatred never went away, is all. :)

Funny thing is that my North Stars hatred hasn't gone away either and it doesn't carry over to the Stars or the Wild.

Just a phantom team that no longer exists...
