Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Absolutely correct....I just hope that it happens in my lifetime.

One of my boys wondered on Facebook last night if it's too soon to start #TankforMatthews. I countered they need to tank for a goalie that can stop a beachball! :rolleyes:
You can have Backstrom, for free. He only lets in the first shot 50% of the time, that's an improvement.

Game I'm looking forward to.

11/21/15 - Toronto @ Boston - train wreck city

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

NHL scheduling is weird. Islanders on their 4th game tonight while Florida is playing just their 2nd.

Edit: Nevermind, google already updated the NYI's standings, they've only played three. Still, it's taken Florida five days to play two games to start the year?

And the Capitals have played 1. And Game 1 was played on NHL Day 4, an apparent violation of the CBA which calls for all NHL teams to play Game 1 by Day 3 of the schedule.

The Wild last played i think Sunday and don't play again until Thursday. Without looking I assume they have back-to-backs and possibly on the road. Makes no sense.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Bettman just told FS Prime or whatever they call it in LA that there will be no expansion next season. Sorry Quebec :(

That would be great.

Florida --> Quebec
Carolina --> Hamilton
New Jersey --> Seattle

Done
Hamilton will never happen as it sits in Buffalo AND Toronto territory. Darn shame, but $$$ talks.

Markham may be a better bet as it sits near Toronto and that town could support 2 NHL teams. That team goes in the NHL-West to set up in 2066 an all Toronto Stanley Cup Final.

Leafs played Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and now don't play until Friday and Saturday. :confused:

With the loonie tanking the grand plan for an arena in Markham won't happen before 2066. :rolleyes:

you need Vlad the Invader to get the price of oil back up. That way Canada AND Russia both benefit.

Yes, the bruins do! ;)

I'm thinking teams will be scouting chara first half of the year to see what he has left.

For the wings fans on here:

I know it's early but i think ken holland knew exactly what he was doing in "letting" babcock get away. Not sure what the dynamic was there but blashill has won everywhere. Is it possible holland simply didn't want to lose blashill rather than keep babcock? Personally I am not expecting detroit to skip a beat with blashill.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

82-0!

I think Babcock simply became a broken record. The last three seasons seemed to have the same pattern, and it just became monotonous. Plus you can't ignore what Blashill was doing during that time. With the clock on Datsyuk and others running out, why not give the hot shot a chance?

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Holland let Babcock go because Blashill would be coaching somewhere else right now otherwise.
