Wow tough to call that conclusive. Thought they would let it stand.

Not really.

It's no exaggeration to say that I've taken over 150k hockey game photos and I could see right away that his skate was off the ice. There was an obvious shadow a few inches below his skate. This always indicates a skate off the ice. Otherwise the shadow is connected to the skate.

I've looked at so many stills over the years that it just jumped out at me.

People can dislike the rule all they want, but the correct call was made.

Tougher work for me. But I thought the last still shot definitively showed the skate was up; therefore a good reversal.

That said, I'm not at all sure that offside calls should be video reviewed.

THAT said, I'm very grateful for the win, and thank Andrew Shaw for another huge playoff goal.

The only still shot i keep seeing is one of the puck not in the zone but lehtera not touching puck. Haven't seen one of the puck being in zone to see if lehtera ever got his skate back down.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

As much as it pains me to say, Lehtera was offside, and if that call is reviewable, they got it right. I don't think offsides should be reviewable, but here we are.

I don't know how Shaw doesn't get dinged for goalie interference, but again, here we are.

I'm honestly more upset about the embellishment call on Fabbri after he got cross-checked by Ladd. We really could have used the power play late. Anyway, I have full faith that my Blues can pick one or both up at the United Center. Funnily enough, you could argue that the wrong team won each night. Playoffs!

With the ref, or with Fabbri?

I've been crossed-checked to the ice. In my experience, it doesn't turn you into a human bowling ball. Fabbri did a pretty good job of cutting the legs out from under the #19 Pin. If Fabbri just goes down, or even slides into empty space, I doubt there's an embellishment call.

Appreciate the objective approach of your comments. Can't say good luck, but enjoy this afternoon's installment.

They just wanted to match them up, or rather NOT call that penalty at that point in the game. If it's the first period, Ladd maybe gets a 2 all by himself.

That stuff happens around the net on just about every puck freeze and is unlikely to be called in the 3rd period.

To say that Shaw's goal was interference is silly though. The puck is in the crease before Shaw and then he tips it past Elliott and then he is crosschecked from behind into Elliott.

That's a good goal every day of every week or every year for all time.

There you go Hitch.

There's your response from the refs.

:D

First two calls were weak imo, fwiw although the Blues got away with plenty after that.

I'd like to extend a thank you to Mr. Patrick Kane for making Alex Pietrangelo bleed for his team.

Great. Everyone's going to blame Jimmy when it's been the D causing the problems.

Neither of these goalies are the problem. The rest of the team is. They don't score more than 2 goals a game and they don't backcheck with the necessary playoff tenacity. Then *ing Abdelkader goes and embarrasses the franchise.
