Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

Minnesota alumni lead the Chicago alumni 3-2 through two periods. Pretty fun to watch. A few people have agreed that Don Beaupre is probably better than Nicklas Backstrom. Gilles Meloche brought an amazing mask. I miss this jersey soooooooo much.

Jaromir Jagr, 63 years of age, moves into 3rd place for all time goals. ;)

It was fun to watch. One aspect is that my son played with several of those guys last year. He was coaching at a squirt tourney and they had a coaches-pros game that he was able to skate in.

The outdoor game day has arrived. Hawks/Wild drop the puck at 2:30. We shall see if the Torch still has the boys burning for win number 4 in a row. Let's Go Wild!!!!'

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

Alumni game was a real treat for me.

Didn't get to watch it yesterday coz TV rights/FSN sucks/NHL sucks, but just watched the replay.

Tons of memories came back as I saw at least 20 games between those two teams between 85 & 93. Easily the Hawks opponent I saw in person the most with the majority of those games coming at the Met Center.

Beaupre stole the show and it was great to see #7 in a Hawks jersey again.

All the smiles amongst former combatants... :)

I miss the North Stars and that rivalry so much. Nothing since has ever come close.

But the Vancouver "rivalry" :p

It was cool to see yesterday and really surprised at how well the Alumni Game drew... Is there one with Colorado/Detroit next weekend?

I know you're joking, but I wouldn't pooh pooh that rivalry except that it was a flash in the pan type of thing as opposed to a long slow burn that was North Stars/Hawks.

For a few years, Canucks/Hawks was a lot of fun - mostly for Hawks fans. ;)

Yes, Avs and Wings have one next weekend. I guess Roy has been suiting up in practice the past couple months to get some workouts in.

They said that Roy doesn't want any joint team activities leading up to that alumni game.

Never graduate. :D
