I got threatened by a mod on hfboards because I was arguing with fellow Hawks posters in a game thread who were nit-picking every little mistake by Kane, Toews, Keith etc, etc, etc. It was suggested that Keith should be shipped out for some prospects and that his Norris season was a fluke. It was opined that Kane hurts the Hawks with mistakes as much as he helps.

It went on and on over every missed play or whatever. It's painfully clear that the vast majority of them have never held a hockey stick other than maybe, MAYBE, floor hockey in PE class. They still like to yap though and criticize what they don't understand.

Well, I was in a mood, like I sometimes get into. When in these moods, I enjoy arguing with the idiot brigade. This was just a few games ago, you know during the best streak to open a season in the history of the NHL.

Anyway, the mod eventually apologized, but I told him that I'd just stay out of the game threads.

hfboards is nowhere near as fun as USCHO as the mods are way too heavy handed. They'd crap themselves if they ever had to deal with even a Mankato/Duluth series thread let alone a UND/Minny one.


Anyway, Chicago sports fans can be complete idiots, but I haven't heard anyone say anything about the goalies other than how pleasantly surprised they are by how well they're doing.

That's what I've gathered as well. Chicago Wolves first, Wings second, Wolves' parent club third.

He's also right about Chicago sports fans in general. Think about it, at least half of them are White Sox fans, and most are Bears fans too.:D

Twitch...you'd be gone well before you got to those. :D

The Rangers aren't going to make the playoffs. They're just not all that good right now.

It because of Torts. I think the players are fed up listening to that blowhard and his yelling and screaming has gotten old.

It can be seen in the young guys (Kreider, Miller, MDZ) are too scared of making a mistake for fear of Torts' wrath coming down on them and/or getting benched or scratched. I think it is affecting the veterans too. How many times is Torts going to bench Richards (who admittedly is not playing well right now) or Gabby before they just give up listening to him?

Oh and his insistence on playing Boyle? I know they are thin at center, but seriously, anyone has to be better than Boyle out there. Can he get any slower? He’s fine if he was on the 4th line getting 4 minutes a game plus PK, but since he not it just makes the 3rd line almost useless. Move Miller back to his center position and move Boyle to the 4th line or better yet the press box.

Let's not forget to mention the absolutely putrid and horrific PP. How the **** a team with Nash, Richards, Gabby, and Cally on it has the worst success rate in the league is beyond me! And 0 PPG from Nash, Richards, and Gabby this season! Torts (& Sullivan) remind me of Schafer in their resistance to change their PP system even though the players don't fit it and it sucks.

Hawks at Blues tonight.

This could be the game. I'm sure the Blues are laying in the weeds for this one as this rivalry has been growing over the past few years.

I believe the Blues have a few injuries, but the Hawks are due for some bad puck luck or just flat out laying an egg.

Hopefully not.
