Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

wasn't that sick. He mishandled the puck and Bobrovsky missed the poke check. Anisimov's goal was much much nicer.

Pffft.

Scoreboard.

Had the displeasure of having to listen to your excitable homer announcers on Center Ice. They got pretty subdued after Toews went 5-hole on Bob and Kaner made him look silly.

If Bolland could lift a puck, it wouldn't have even gotten to a shootout.

and if Foligno could finish a breakaway it wouldn't have even gone to OT.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

and if Chicago never drafted Toews, there wouldn't have been any hawks fans in Cbus tonight :p

Was a good game tonight and that back and forth in OT was silly fun.

Good luck in the east and I hope we don't draw the Jackets in the first round this year. Tough games.

Chicago had terrible puck luck tonight, I was just giving you **** :D

and yes OT was a roller coaster for both fan bases! Best of luck in the West

Well since we're saying nice things to each other (:)), Anisimov's goal was more bada-s-s than sick. I admit it was impressive.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

So realignment is approved for next season, and the divisions STILL DO NOT MAKE SENSE!

Detroit is with eastern teams, but Nashville is with central/western teams.

Why wouldn't they fix that? Did Detroit whine it wanted to play Boston, NYR, and Montreal more?

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

I know Detroit is slightly further east, however they are closer to most of the central teams. Only significant savings in distance would be Dallas. So to me, they are a more central team.

I understand one of the two is going to have to travel farther, because either they are farther from eastern teams or farther from western ones.

Example

DET to
- MN, 682
- CHI, 282
- COL, 1270
- WPG, 1144
- DAL, 1195
- StL, 530

NSH to:
- MN, 877
- CHI, 469
- COL, 1159
- WPG, 1322
- DAL, 663
- StL, 309

ETA: This is of course all based on my personal opinion of how alignment should work.

They should just get rid of all teams west of Chicago. Would make it much easier to watch night games at a reasonable hour.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

I suppose this is all going to blow up when it is revisited in two years and there are expansion teams in Quebec and Toronto plus the new Seattle Coyotes.

Yes. Detroit and Columbus will probably come back West.

Count me as another member of the bring Toronto over instead of Columbus pipe dream. Bring back the Norris! :D

Hearing some very unsettling rumors about Pavel Datsyuk. Word on the street is he's getting tired of Babcock and the NHL grind and is bailing after next season to go play in Russia while he's still healthy.

Heard the same rumor. Not sure how it's all Babcock's fault that Datsyuk only has an off-again/on-again chemestry with his linemates. How long was he cold with whoever he was paired with?

I think the lockout had something to do with it, and the freedom of just screwing around and playing hockey. He seemed to be one of the few actually playing over there, and not just going through the motions.

I just find it hard to believe that Lidstrom was the lynchpin holding the whole team together. Next you'll tell me Hank's on his last contract too.

Remind me again why we resigned Mule over Hossa?

He's been playing with Cleary and farking Abdelkader for 2-3 weeks now, and it's clear they have no chemistry with each other.

Personally, I'd start planning for a new era and expect wholesale change in the organization in the next 3-5 years. Maybe Holland retires or is "asked to retire", and the new GM can decide whether or not to keep Babcock as part of his first moves.
