NFL 2022-23: How About A Lions vs. Jaguars Super Bowl?

According to Elias, Brett Maher is the only player in any NFL game since 1932 to miss four extra points in one game, regular season or playoffs.

I mean, there's a giant asterisk on that year stat.
(but still crazy nonetheless)

Yeah, there’s really three distinct eras in extra points.

Pre 1974 when the uprights were on the goal line. So it was literally a nine yard kick.

1974-2015 when the uprights were moved back and the ball was snapped from the two. About a 19 yard kick

Post 2015 with the ball moved back to the 15 for kicks. Now it’s a 32 yard kick.

The kicking game is a far more refined science these days, but most people off the street should be able to make a nine yard kick, let alone a professional athlete, no matter the era.

Lol so true. I made a 30-yd field goal in socks, dress pants, and a button-down shirt on my second try at US Bank Stafium. Even the people with zero technique would have hit 10 yards.

The over-under for the Dallas-TB game was 45.5. It ended up with 45 points total, and the four missed XPs. Study it out!

Weren't PAT's something like 2497 out of 2500 the last couple of years with the ball being snapped from the two? It literally was like the "free" point offered in NFL BLITZ.

I'm sure they can blame Brady, too- since he missed a 2 pt PAT. Gotta be his fault instead of the kicker making history- as it had NEVER been done before. Granted, they kick a lot farther out, but missing 4 of them in a row is a pretty impressive lack of accomplishment. They were moved back because the kickers had gotten so good.

Buffalo, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Kansas City and New England will each host international games during the NFL's 2023 regular season.

The Chiefs and Patriots will host games in Germany. The Bills, Titans and Jaguars will play in London. The Bills and Titans are the designated home teams for two games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while the Jaguars will host a game at Wembley Stadium as part of their multiyear commitment to playing in the United Kingdom.

Opponents, dates and times for the games will be released when the full schedule is announced later this year.

It’ll be World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party-style seating if the neutral site game ends up happening next week. 50k seats sold so far and season ticket holders will be seated on their side of the field.

It'll make for a unique atmosphere for sure with the building being a 50/50 or 60/40 split, and being people that are true to the cause and want to be there. Sure, there will be some corporate people, but most will be actual fans.

First thing I think of is that cheesy cheer we learned in HS- "we got the spirit, yes we do, we got the spirit, how about you?" going back and forth among 30,000 people on either side.

Yeah, that would be a good atmosphere. It's sort of like what Texas and Oklahoma do in football and Illinois and Missouri do in basketball.

Exactly.

You see the same thing in High School football in many places: Your state semi-finals are played in a jam-packed HS stadium filled to the brim with engaged fans. Then you go to the state finals where it may be the same number of people, but in a venue that is 20% full. It's all about atmosphere.
