I got about 10% of that. M5 did some Spongebob thing and there was some fan demand that they do it for the Super Bowl, and they sent out some message hinting it was a possibility, but it was also considered a possible troll.

The Comments on the Deadspin article about the game are verging on being even less fun or interesting than the game, but there was one gem:

... the winner goes to the white house which seems like something the loser should have to do.

Edit: sh-t, I coulda have saved the keystrokes. But I guess it's an obvious take, all things considered.

This was the game the NFL and our current world deserved.

MLS Cup was played at the same stadium and had higher attendance (73019 vs 70081), though vastly different revenue and tv ratings.
