NFL 2019-20: The Patriots Are A Terrible 11-3 Team!

Now the debate begins as to his place in the pantheon of great NFL quarterbacks. Top 10?

Figuring one per decade, Brady already has the 2010s taken so no:

4 Baugh
5 Graham
6 Unitas
7 Staubach
8 Montana
9 Marino / Young
0 Manning
1 Brady / Favre

Actually, I'll amend that. I think he does have a shot.

Also, Jesus Christ, I have watched the NFL for more than half its existence.

My Dad watched the NL for more than half of its existence.

You need to move Favre to either the 90s or 00s (presuming he should be in the Top 10). He only played about a dozen games in the 10s, and was pretty awful.

I think it is an interesting debate about Brees. If not Top 10, Top 15? Top 20?

Yeah, I agree with you.

I think Brees is knocking on the door.

What he do to earn your ire?

I know he's a moron, but all jocks are morons.

What makes Brees any worse than Favre or Brady or the other Hitler Youth?

A lot of Vikings fans, myself included, dislike the Saints for various reasons, not limited to the 2009 NFC Championship Game / Bountygate scandal.

Personally, I dislike Sean Payton more than any Saints player. However, whenever I need a little relief from that strong dislike, I like to watch the Minnesota Miracle, where Payton was mocking the Vikings fans by doing the "Skol" chant after New Orleans kicked the go-ahead field goal with just a couple dozen seconds left. Then, the miracle happened, and Payton and his team ran off the field like a bunch of babies. The Saints only had something like 8-9 players left for the extra point, including their punter.

Not to bring politics into this thread, but....

Everything FS23 said, but also because Brees is a complete asshole. He's been associated with and given money to many anti-LGBTQ orgs. I'm not even talking about the GOP in general, I'm talking the people who fought the Obergefell ruling and are in favor of conversion therapy.

I assume 90% of the NFL, even the black players, do stuff like that. They're morons and they're religious in that "Jesus shiv to your eye" way. And they're poorly educated for Republicans. A football degree from Michigan or Stanford is roughly equal to finishing third grade, and those are the good schools.

Which is interesting given how much of a fangirl Ellen DeGeneres is of him. She has his jersey hanging in her studio.

Maybe, but not every NFL player has the exposure of Brees.

Once again Kepler and his broad brush

Interesting. She probably knows him. I'm friends with a number of people who don't match my politics and I'm not big on cutting ties over politics unless it crosses some line. She might do a better job at compartmentalizing those things.

Or I'm wrong.

Being rich covers a multitude of sins.
