Saw a good article this year about QB's. The premise was that most teams have crappy defenses because they have to spend 30M a year on mediocre QB's like Smith, Cousins and Bortles for example. Even if you have a good QB he's taking up a huge amount of cap space. The difference on the Patriots is that Brady has been relatively underpaid for the position his entire career, which allows them to pay more to shore up the D (Hightower resigned, big contract for Gilmore, etc).

Makes some sense. Houston and Jax have a bunch of solid guys on D but the O is terrible (no QB's) while a team like the Steelers is chock full of superstars on offense but they're running out a bunch of guys who couldn't cover a traffic cone in their secondary.

I didn’t even know it was a thing. I realize I say it a lot.

Ditto, sorta. I say it more like "whup." But now that it has been brought up......uff da. All the time. I can't NOT notice it now.

Since not everyone reads the Lodge posts.

If you have a chance, try to get down to Super Bowl Live. It’s kind of fun in a big event crammed into a small place kind of way.

The zip line was killer. It started dumping snow right when we got to the top. The videos and pictures were great. The ride was an experience I’ll never forget.

The last steps to nowhere they make you go out on are terrifying.

It would be good if the Skins could stop picking up QBs that Andy Reid crashed out of the playoffs with.

My fiancee is one of the volunteers out on Nicollet Ave. Her shift started at 6:00 last night and I drove her down to it. That's to say I tried to drive her down to it. I got to S 6th Ave & S 7th St and it then took me 27 minutes to drive two blocks. She got out and walked the last five blocks to get checked in. She made it there in 8 minutes.

There’s your first problem. You tried to drive down there. I parked away and hopped on the green line.

Prior to that night, she had never used the LRT and was nervous about making it to her sign-in spot on time. She used it leaving downtown, after having the process of using it explained to her a bit by another volunteer.
