NFL 2018.1 The off season

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

Milwaukee has two.
Detroit (Super Bowl), Dallas (World Series), Seattle (World Series), Pittsburgh (NBA Title), Baltimore (Stanley Cup), DC (Stanley Cup), Miami (Stanley Cup), Oakland (Stanley Cup), and St. Louis (Stanley Cup) are all short one title.

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

So, for the Beanpot, BU’s alumni association sets up watch parties across the country. A BU alum tweeted that he went to the bar in Philly that was going to show the game and the crazy Philly fans destroyed the satellite dish at the bar so they can’t have the event.

But it's...a completely different day? Why?..how?..who?

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

Wait, I think I misread it. I assumed they destroyed it out a spite specifically for that event so, like, no other event in the week would exist and steal thunder. But upon second reading it was just collateral damage. Though it's Philly so I suppose the first is always possible.

From listening to the scanner last night, if one can destroy something, one will destroy it. If it's associated with NE in ANY way, which includes Boston, so be it.

some of those cities don't have a useless 4th option. some have already completed their hat trick long ago.

of course some do have a loser team that will always be a loser team too :D

In other words, Boston inserts itself into a story that has nothing to do with it due to its deep inferiority and resentment.

And... scene. :p

Thank you for this. I was just obsessively doing it in my head and now I can stop.

Wait. St. Louis won an NBA title?

1958. Rochester and Syracuse too.

I knew about the Syracuse Nationals (now the 76ers) and the Rochester Royals (now the Kings). I did not know about the St. Louis Hawks (born the Buffalo Bisons).

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

And the Twins. The only team I've been a fan of I've ever seen win a championship, and I was 3 and 7 when they happened.

I have been very fortunate, I have 12 (6 in the majors). I saw Notre Dame football at 10, 14, and 25, the Isles at 17, 18, 19, and 20, the Mets at 23, the Portland Rockies at 34, the Winter Hawks at 35, the Seahawks at 50, and the Timbers at 52.

While I take tremendous joy from Cornell at 23, 33, 34, 40, 42, and 47, I am still waiting for the one ring to rule them all. Maybe at 55?

You're listing teams there that I've never heard of...

Nope. You had your chance in Buffalo and got screwed by the replay.

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

Was thinking about this too the other day. While Celtics have won most titles of any Boston team, I've only witnessed 4 of them personally (two took place when I was too young to remember. So I've personally seen 5-4-3-2-1 for the Pats, Celts, Red Sox, BU hockey, Bruins. Although in my lifetime its 6-5-4-3-2 with Celts, Pats, BU hockey, Red Sox, Bruins.

Bottom line: Sh !t started happening for Boston sports teams after I came along!

Re: NFL 2018.1 The off season

All mookie knows is Pittsburgh has won a title more recently than Boston :p
