NFL 2016-17: Your Fantasy Team Will Suck This Year.

Re: NFL 2016-17: Your Fantasy Team Will Suck This Year.

NFC South had a division winner at 7-9 a few years ago - the Saints. They went into Seattle for the first round playoff game, and won. :D This was, I think, two years before the Seahawks won it all.

7-9 Seattle beat NO in 2010, 7-8-1 Carolina beat Arizona in 2015. In both cases since the losing record team was a division winner, they got to host, and won.

Ah, yes. I had the teams backwards on the NO-Seattle game. It goes to show that the NFL should change their playoff format to reward overall records rather than division titles.

I disagree. In theory, what if every team was that good (and beat up on each other)? In the NFL, that theory is easier to break, given the lack of games, sure, however...can't really say that "well, you won the division, but have a losing record, and there's an exception to the rule for that."

Six games were in-division, ten games were not. If the entire league had such parity as that division, you wouldn't see so many 10-6 teams missing the playoffs while that 7-9 team hosted a playoff game.

Never Nervous Norville Turner out as Vikings OC, per reports.

Re: NFL 2016-17: Your Fantasy Team Will Suck This Year.

Wonder if it's the end of the line for Norv. Seems to me he was thought of as an offensive genius who was out of his league as a head coach. Now it looks like he's lost his "offensive genius" credentials.

Really, I think it was a bad release by the Vikings. Norv was the scapegoat. The o-line was never very good, but when they were mostly healthy he was able to get the offense to play just well enough to let the defense win the first five games. Now that the o-line has gone from sieve to colander status, he's being blamed for RBs not being able to get yards and a QB not known for his scrambling skills getting sacked and pressured.

The offensive line isn't built in a day. It's also the true foundation of an offense. I don't think he's been great, but he hasn't done the **** job everyone seems to think he has.

The offense has been awful the last 2 weeks, but its hard to make things work when you lose both tackles and your top 2 RBs. Although, it did seem like they left the tackles alone alot in pass protection? I would have expected more tight ends in the game to chip/stay in and help on pass protection? As you can see between the packers and vikings its relatively easy to survive multiple injuries at different positions but its pretty tough to survive multiple injuries at the same position.

Also, not nearly enough very quick hitter passes, to beat the rush. One of the drives late in the game, the did some quick passes for about 4 plays in a row and started to move the ball, then they ran Asiata 3 times and **** hit the fan again.

The O-line is ****, everyone knows it, they need to adapt in every way possible to adjust for this. There are some things they can do to help counteract the terrible line, and it didn't seem like they were doing those things.

Wow, Le'Veon Bell and who ever he was blocking on the Ben TD run should both be ashamed. Walked up to each other put their hands gently onto each others arms and stood there, neither making any effort to be involved in the play.

Not everything's Eli's fault. Ball tipped at the line because the Giants have an O line who only knows how to hold. Once Pugh went down and your next best lineman is John Jerry, that's pretty scary. Fortunately the defense played lights out.

There has to be a point where high schools won't have football anymore because of the insurance premiums, right?

As for the No Fun League, a few more investigations will turn up they knew everything all along, and then the survivors will sue them into bankruptcy. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

Might not even get to that point... Schools here in the Chicago are that used to get 80+ kids for freshman teams 6-8 years ago are now getting 30-40 kids.

In Michigan quite a few schools don't even have freshman teams anymore. Heck, it's not unusual to see some Class B (400-800 kids) schools come off the bus with JV teams that HAVE to have kids go both ways because they can't get 22 frosh and sophomores to play.

Although, I feel like that's happening with a lot of sports. Umpiring baseball there were quite a few schools that only had ten or eleven kids for JV and there was one school with over 800 kids that couldn't even field a JV team for baseball or softball.

Hate to get political but I wonder what impact activities fees play in that.
