Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

The haters are out in full force.
I don't care enough to be a hater. :p

Growing up I actually like the Patriots, with Sugar Bear Hamilton, Mack Herron and all. But the current crowd I find a good bit harder to like.

And now Brady and Belichick are going to be in Super Saiyan Eff You Mode.

You thought 2007 was bad. These guys might average 45 points a game and drop a seventyburger on someone. Brady might throw for 6000 yards and 50 TDs.

No wonder Randy Moss wants to come out of retirement. Heck any receiver with a decent speed and a pair of hands ought to be dialing Foxboro(gh)

GLA still can't throw over 20yds (inflated or deflated)

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

no they won't. Brady is free to play according to MSN.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league would not seek an emergency stay, freeing Brady to play while an appeals court considers the case. The Patriots open Sept. 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The appeal could take up to 2 years and likely the judge in the appeal hearing will likely uphold Berman's ruling according to some experts. This would be more waste of money and time. Get over it and move on NFL. Let it go ! Not worth the time and money. There are more important items in the docket.

Basically the NFL mismanaged and mishandled this case badly like previous cases whether TB is guilty or not.

I suspect that the thing the Commissioner's office is most concerned with at this point is upholding its right to be judge, jury, and appellate court without any questioning by the players, courts, or anyone else, much more so than whether or not Tom Brady has to sit a game or four.

And Judge Berman agreed that he could be. What was flawed was the process. You can hang 'em, but you need to do it legally.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Exactly. The league was so hell bent on winning they leaked false info, didn't correct it when proven wrong, backtracked on ted wells being independent, had jeff pash EDIT wells' report, didn't allow pash to be questioned...it goes on and on and on. The people spewing "article 46" simply were not paying attention.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

The commissioner wouldn't be at Gillette next thursday, what a wimp.

Yes, but if every time you try to exercise that power it gets challenged on process grounds, then the power isn't particularly useful.

If they followed a simple, allowable process based on the cba and "law of shop"...they could win these cases. Just too many blunders by the league along the way. They didn't run an honest investigation.

It seems to me that what the Commissioner's office is most concerned about is deflecting public attention away from concussion studies, long-term health concerns of former players, recurring incidents of domestic violence and drunk driving and drug abuse by its players......

and it has been curious to me when the alleged deflation story first broke, why did the referees not keep track of the footballs in the first place? it sounded to me that either the league had a messed-up procedure (or no procedure at all) in the first place, or league officials botched it big time. not a peep about that.

Either this or a group of owners pressed him to stick it to the Patriots. I can easily see this possibility as well.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Mookie is sticking with his story that the brothers see themselves getting nailed and now we had a cracker before judge hang'um who needed to see the hammer dropped.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

except i've already seen "brothers" come to Brady's defense during all this and also be happy about this victory for the PA. this entire investigation was driven by certain NFL owners. goodell is a puppet for them. if the owners didn't want him to do this, he wouldn't. probably fairly easy to figure out which owners were most vocal about it.

Of Course they want GLA to get off. It's about optics though for the commissioners office.

I've been saying this since day one and finally someone here agrees with me. Because this was never about footballs. It was about a distraction. And Goodell and the NFL'S crappy lawyers don't understand the legality of the CBA, hence their major argument as to why the Judge shouldn't overturn the ruling was used against them TO overturn the ruling. Get some new legal council.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Per Jay Glazer, Cardinals and Eagles are working on a trade involving Matt Barkley. If that happens, it most likely means the TimmyJesusTebow is making the 53.

Edit: Barkley to Arizona for a conditional 7th. Eagles get the pick if Barkley is on Card's roster for 6 games.
