NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

NFL announces there will be no blackouts this season. Note, as far as I know, this is not talking about how a home market cannot have any competing games, this is merely about not showing the game in the home market if the game is not a sellout. There were zero last season and only two the year before, so really it's pointless.

That's due to Congressional pressure put on by some senators within the last few months. They were threatening the NFL with changing some laws because they thought that the league was abusing the current set.

If people would just buy the tickets they would have this problem!!! :(

If it didn't cost some $300+ for a family of four to attend a single game while at the same time using (mostly) publicly funded stadiums, maybe they wouldn't have had to worry about senators breathing down their backs.

Checked here for some ticket prices, they gave 2014 and 2013 "initial average ticket" prices per team. Sot it's almost $600, on avarage, to get four tickets to a game. Click the link for a better layout of the prices.

Not sure how I feel about this one. It's Bills-Jags so I probably wouldn't watch anyway, but morning football was a lot of fun with DET-ATL this year. If an online package ever takes hold, it will be totally on flex scheduling so most matchups will still be reserved for TV.

In other news, rumors that the Pro Bowl will be going to Brazil this year.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

Still no word on the "findings" of the NFL's "investigation" into the air pressure in the Foxborough footballs during the AFC championship game.....

Though I see that someone else has picked up on a theory I put forward awhile ago: rather than deflate the footballs during the game, several hours before the game they just barely inflated them to the minimum allowable pressure, in a really hot room.

Re: NFL 2015: Let's Talk About Balls

I thought today was the day Adrian Peterson gets restored to active and eligible status by Goodell (and promptly traded by MIN to DAL in the reverse Hershel Walker maneuver).
