Seriously why is it so horrible that a game ends in a tie? Sometimes teams are evenly matched and a tie is the right result.

I don't mind a tie. But I do like an overtime that isn't all effed up like the NFL (college ALMOST has it right; I don't like the non-kickoff start).

These guys play once a week...no reason they can't play until there's a winner. Do it like college if you're worried about time.

if they got wise and let the taps flow until 20min after the end of the game you'd bet your arse they would play until there is a winner!!!

I just think it is funny how we look at ties here. Around the world the stats list wins, ties, then losses. Since you know a tie is not as good as a win but better than a loss. Yet here we are so afraid of teams being even we list ties after losses like it is horrible that two teams are even.

Not to hijack, but during the preseason I kept seeing NHL games on the scoretickers say "2nd OT." Were they testing the 3 on 3 OT period? I've tried to look for articles about it and can't find them, and it looks like teams don't even put up box scores on their websites (at least the Panthers don't) for preseason, so my quest for confirmation has been unsuccessful so far.

I *believe* that "2OT" means shootout, but am not certain.
