Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

I'd MUCH rather see Luck go to MN than Indy. Indy doesn't deserve him.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

?

Hell, if the Vikings don't get him I can't think of a team I want to have him more than the Colts.

I meant MN or STL. Sorry.

And that's because those teams are GENUINELY bad. The Colts are just a team that had the injury at the right time, ala the San Antonio Spurs back the year before they drafted Duncan.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

You have much to learn about the New England area vs Indianapolis...

Meh. Deal with it. I don't ***** that Green Bay had Favre and then Rodgers. Some teams are just *ahem* lucky. It's not like the Colts have a contract with Satan like the Packers or Patriots.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

If we're going to talk about a team "deserving" Andrew Luck, I think the discussion has to start with the Cleveland Browns. If Stafford had been out 13 more games this year, I would have thrown Detroit in, too. No other NFL teams or fanbases have suffered anything remotely close to those two. Cincy, Minnesota and Buffalo? Fark you. You've got 10 conference titles and Super Bowl trips between you. Detroit and Cleveland have 5 playoff wins since the merger.

A little weighted, though. MN: 4 SB trips, BUF: 4 SB trips. Cincy, I remember (I think) '88? Whee. Hi, 49ers Monster, how ya doing?

I'd say currently (teams without hope, with little to no hope in the past, also interchange hope with luck): Texans, Rams, Bears, Tennessee, Oakland.

Cincy ran into SF in 1981 and 1988. The first one wasn't really any kind of 49er dynasty.

The Browns have been to the playoffs in the last 13 years and I think Detriot will make it. For a league that trumpets its parity, the Bills are the thorn in the NFL's side. Luck would give the franchise hope and people would talk about it instead of people asking when they are moving to L.A. Luck has gone by the boards, but Barkley is staying so maybe we can tank next year and get him. :D Anyone got a snappy phrase for this campaign?

Too bad, they weren't bad enough this year. If you want a franchise player, you have to either find a hidden gem (like NE did by drafting Brady in a late round), or you have to take sucking to a whole new level and put forth a truly horrifying 2-14/1-15 type of season. :p

If MN is really smart, they'll trade Peterson and/or Allen at the height of their value and scoop up multiple picks in the process. It's obvious they're in rebuilding mode, so there's no point in retaining the services of high-priced veterans in the near term.
