NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

The video shows several jet sideline folks lined up shoulder to shoulder, toe to toe, right on the edge of the white sideline barrier stripe...it is clear they are there to prevent a player from running down the sideline if he is pushed out of bounds...I've never noticed a team doing that before and we see plenty of those shots during the year...the comish should take that into account, who organized the line of people, what was their intention, was there a 'plan' to push the gunner into the line?

If a player gets fined $25k for a cheap shot, a coach should bet more than that.

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

Oh for the love of... I'm about to get bumped from the playoffs in one of my leagues because this team I outscored by like 10 points/week in the regular season got THIRTY THREE ****ING POINTS FROM THE ARIZONA DEFENSE. Are you ****ING ****TING ME?

Arizona's defense has been good fantasy wise, lots of touchdowns, return yards, etc. - more points than Philly's D has on the year. My only issue with AZ's D is that the points have come in major spurts. 35 points one week, .8 the next, 1 the week after that, then a random 25.

That said, I need Houston to go off for 28-35 points tonight. I'm down 30 with Foster and Schaub in play (opponent's done). I've gone from title contender to fading down the stretch thanks to injuries to Frank Gore and Dallas Clark.

Oh, I don't know. The action is bush league obviously, but so long as they aren't on the white stripe, I think they have every right to be there. That part is actually rather clever in my view.

We don't see eye to eye on that one, which makes the world go around. I'm clearly not a Jets fan, so I'm biased.

I will say that if the Jets want to be clever, they might start thinking about being clever on the field vs. off it...at this rate they'll be watching the playoffs from home.

I just think the opposition might want to be a little more clever and have some 255 LB blow out the Jets' strength and conditioning coach's knee with an "accidental" collison.

Did you read what I wrote? Tripping him is dumb, dangerous, and other word you want to throw in there. I totally agree.

But the team is entitled to be on the green part of the sideline. So they have every right to be there.

Besides, according to the rules, if you get pushed out of bounds, you are obligated to come back in as quickly as possible, so it's not like the gunner is allowed to use that part of the sideline if he wants to.

According to some random guy that works at TCF Bank Stadium, that just called into KFAN, TCF Bank Stadium employees just got called into work to begin the process of getting it up and running again.

The Vikings probably watched the Bears play like crap in the snow yesterday and thought they better have an outdoor game next Monday.

Add Albany, NY, and Duluth, MN to that list. Per NBC anyways.

Yep, The 506 NFL Map has it too... So if you get in Minnesota, KMSP(MSP), KQDS(Duluth), KEYC(Mankato), or KXLT(Rochester) and in New York WNYW(New York) or WXXA(Albany) you can see the game.. This leaves a good portion of western Minnesota without the game as it won't be televised in the Fargo-Valley City and Sioux Falls TV markets.

*sigh*... yeah, I need huge nights from Eli and Baltimore D or I'm toast. My decision to pick up Celek backfired big time.

Should have asked...I could have told you he's doing nothing as I have him as my TE :o

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

I just looked up some superbowl odds online, to prepare for my trip to Vegas, trying to decide if I want to make any bets. As of now, the Vikings are still 25-1 to win the superbowl, while the division leading Bears are 35-1. Sometimes these things just make no sense to me. :p

Those odds are based on where people are betting, not nesicarily odds-makers...

Really? Just asked my dad about it and he hasn't heard anything. Doesn't mean it isn't true, concession stands probably aren't the first thing to get ready.

PTI just mentioned next weeks game is going to be at TCF. So sounds like more than a rumor.

For those interested, Favre is inactive for tonight's game.
