The consistency of calling a low block makes no sense to me. Sometimes its fine to take out a blocker low, sometimes its not.

Isn't it only bad if the guy is already engaged with someone, or if it is from the side or behind? The one by the Cards CB on that play was from the front and on unengaged blockers.

You can't block low if one of your teammates is already blocking high.

Yes, that is what I meant by engaged (in a block). In the play that I assume TBA was questioning, the lineman and fullback did not seem to be engaged in a block to me.

Wasn't all the talk that this is the week last year that he started having trouble? and would it happen again.

Although last year it was his bicep injury.
