Wait, people still care about reps?

Some use it like a PM. Sure you have visitor's messages now, but those are public, so might as well just post.

Oh dear, what have I gotten myself into...
I've succumbed to the peer pressure and signed up...

Great win for the Huskies tonight though, since when have we been able to kill penalties like that??

Welcome to the boards!

The Special Teams have been fantastic.
PK is now 14/ 16 (87.5%)
PP is now 9/21 (42.8%)

Who knows where those will end up but that has been a wonderful suprise.

Last time Michigan Tech was undefeated through 4 games, was 1974-1975.

Re: "Next Year" Begins Now: Michigan Tech 2010-11 Season Thread Part I

I expect most teams to play us just as mankato did. Clog the shots lanes, take advantage of our mistakes, etc. Way too many two on ones given up, typical Tech mistakes in the defensive zone, but man the scoring is something I'm not used to. I don't think the other side is either.
shirtless thanks for posting the comments. Like I said before the system works but the players have to sell out to it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know how long this is going to last, and it may end as soon as tomorrow night, but I feel **** good about being a Husky tonight. It feels like this team now has a killer instinct that it didn't have before. I said before the season that the culture of Michigan Tech hockey needs to change for this team to find any success. I don't know if the culture can change in one offseason and 5ish games, but it sure feels like something is different in that ice arena right now.

With the exception of a few *********s out there, it seems that we are finally starting to believe that this team is improved. The level of competition has not been that high yet, but we are winning the battles in front of us. We have surpassed expectations for the first four games (I said at best we would be 3-2 through 5), and have seen something that we haven't seen in 35 years.

Tech will struggle at some point this season. And they may struggle for long stretches. But it is enjoyable to see this wave, and I hope they can ride it for as long as possible. GO HUSKIES!!!

The Apocalypse? What is it?

You know how Minnesota Hockey is doing right now? Imagine that, but even worse. Throw in flesh eating zombies and then you get a pretty good idea of what an Apocalypse is.

Wrong answer.

The Apocalypse? That's MTU being undefeated through 4 games. But that's not important right now.

Shouldnt' we be saying this is a young team, 9 freshman, 18 underclassmen, we'll get better as the season goes? But not yet, so far this is good to see. I'm not sure if it's Europe, the new systems or just good players, but hopefully we keep this up and have a fun year.

Nice start by MTU. No cellar for you

Combination of all three, I think.

Also, throw in a manageable early schedule. We'll see how tomorrow goes, plus the Wisconsin and Duluth series.

So 11th place then? ;)

Also, '93-'94 says otherwise. We started 3-0, and finished in last place...BUT we prevented resurgent CC from making the NCAA playoffs. :p Moral victory?

So the colors only apply for each individual page?

I don't think BigDaddy is coming back...and I wanted to hear why we didnt' have much of a shot at Ben Johsnon.

Johnson or Erkkila for that matter have no "historied" issues with Tech; up until Johnson became a hot prospect he was likely going Tech and Erkkila was skating with Tech up until he committ to NMU. Erkkila commit to NMU because they offered first and they were also on his list. With Johnson now having a variety of options, it's Tech most recent state that would most likely steer him elsewhere, not long ago history. Having Whitten come in and getting away from playing dump, chase and trap likely won't hurt and if they can continue to rebound it will only help their cause.

Yeah I saw that too, took a bit to go through and realize that:

1. These kids weren't even born the last time Tech went undefeated through 4 games
2. This was the last time Tech won a NCAA championship
3. Back then it was all WCHA games at the start, so we'll see but I don't see us doing as well as the 74-75 squad did....(imagine that, not picking Tech for the NCAA Championship)

Also, '93-'94 says otherwise. We started 3-0, and finished in last place...BUT we prevented resurgent CC from making the NCAA playoffs. :p Moral victory?

that was starting 3-0. not starting 3-0-1 :p it'll be different

If that's at all true, and he was literally skating with the Tech team, the NCAA would be on Russell faster than flies on sheet. Recall what happened to Buetow at CC in '92-'93.
