Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

I am not trying to be a dick, just seems fair since you guys are basically talking to each other about the movie ya know.

It was a grand total of maybe 10 posts. It's not the first or last movie that this will/has happened with. Others were talking about it prior to this most recent exchange.

All things pass.

It'll be heavy next weekend and then fade away.

Hang in there!

Trust me, I've shown restraint. :o

Heard that they are considering to make Tron 3. Tron Legacy was one of the worst plot lines I've seen but the FX were awesome so I was actually able to overlook the lack of plot. Maybe Tron 3 will learn the lessons from Legacy and be a great movie all around. Hope so.

That along with Ghostbusters 3? Nice.

Legacy was soooo bad, but so much fun. One of the few movies that was actually worth seeing in 3D.

My lord...make a suggestion and the nerds circle the wagons. Even the Breaking Bad freaks didnt take offense when I mentioned they should start their own thread...sorry I brought it up. (I seriously was just offering a suggestion)

No worries man.

We're good.

Just encouraging you to hang in there. It'll all be over soon enough.

Oh it will never be over...after the 16 Hobbit movies then Disney will buy the rights and we will get the movies on the Post War Middleearth ;)

Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

I have to interest in seeing that hobbit movie. Read the book when I was little, wasn't that impressed, never had any desire to watch the lord of rings movies, don't have any interest in these movies.

Saw 'Rare Exports' this weekend. It's a Finnish film from 2010. It may be my new favorite Christmas film...and will probably become a Christmas tradition so long as the theater near me brings it back every year.

It's a Christmas "horror" film. It's not scary, more like campy horror flick. Basic plot (without giving too much away) there is a company digging on a mountain, believed to have the frozen remains of the original Santa Claus. Santa of legend punishes/tortures children.

It was great, but there was a bit too much male nudity for me. Naked Santa is icky.

I heard The Hobbit is going to suck cause it's 3 movies. If it had been two it would have been awesome.

Strange seeing The Onion doing a factual news report...

Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

I think it might be time for a Hobbit thread...just saying.
You know, I was thinking about this... I was pretty sure we had a thread for the Hobbit films waaaay back when this thing was in development hell. But I can't find it through searching the forums.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

Brenthoven, how many hours of A Christmas Story are you shooting for this year?

Re: New/Rented Movies: Insert Random Retread Of A Plot

Depending on what day it is, I think I'm only shooting for about 12-14 hours straight. :)

It will start on Monday the 24th at 8pm. I will probably try to get one watch in on Christmas Eve. Something about sitting in the dark with just the lights from the Christmas tree while its quiet around the house and outside makes that first night veiwing the best. My family will likely have breakfast together Christmas morning with other family over for dinner in the evening. Im cooking so I will lose some time there but I should be able to get a few more hours in on Christmas day.
