We'll agree to disagree about Saw; I thought it was quite good. I agree about zombies, though. They have been done to death.

zombies : adolescent boys :: vampires : adolescent girls

So you're saying it should be Abraham Lincoln, Zombie Hunter? (by the way, just read the book while flying cross country. Actually absurdly entertaining. Unfortunately I know the movie will just be a standard action/slasher flick and probably nothing like the actual book)

My wife has been watching "The Way We Were" for what seems like the last five hours. It is one of the most tedious movies I've ever tried to ignore.

Boy howdy. In reviewing a Streisand TV special many years ago, Time said: "90 minutes of Barbra Streisand is about 45 minutes too much."

Only Streisand movie I ever watched (because I was forced to, as a young'n) was Yentl. Good God. Terrible. Horrible.

She was great in "Hello Dolly" because it featured only her marvelous voice, not her utterly non-existent acting talent. In everything else she's just another homely, grating neighbor from Five Towns.

I kinda liked her in "What's up, Doc?"
Which includes the wonderful exchange:

"Love means never having to say you're sorry."

(long beat)

"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard."

Marvelous voice? My Parise, you really needed to advance in PoTY. ;)

Watched "The Sitter" tonight. There was one, maybe two amusing moments. Other than that? Crap. It couldn't even really be saved by watching with a bunch of drunk friends.

I loath Babs in many ways, but she had a perfect Broadway voice.

And by Broadway you mean the street, preferably after being hit by a bus right? ;)

It could only improve her looks. That woman was fugly by Long Island standards, and a Long Island 9 is a California 3.

The Accidental Tourist was worse -- it put me to sleep in a hurry.

So, what would it be on the Michigan Tech Scale? ;)

Just watched The Third Man on TCM.

Joseph Cotten, Orson Welles, Trevor Howard, and Alida Valli in a Graham Greene screenplay.

Set in post-WWII Vienna. Filmed on location in 1949.

Very Good!

ABC aired The Blind Side last night. Mrs. P and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy to see why Sandra Bullock won an Oscar.

Went to Hunger Games with the family yesterday. Decidedly meh. Even my kid (14) who is a big fan of the books found it meh.
