Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

Not all of us. I love Woody but Hannah and Her Sisters, Manhattan and Annie Hall are unwatchable. Maybe it's I hate Diane Keaton that much (can we edit all the Kay scenes out of the Godfather?), or I grew up with those people. In any case, ew.

Oh man. Annie Hall and Manhattan are two of my favorites. Definitely in the Top 5 of WA films that I recommend to people. I love them both.

I would say those two movies defined Woody Allen's style? Did they not?

So I was thinking back and I remembered that Nathan and Scooby were very excited for the new Megan Fox movie that was written by Diablo Cody...did either of you see it before it was yanked out of the theaters previous to its second showing? ;) I mean you both said it was going to be awesome because Cody wrote Juno which was great and no one who has ever written one good story could suck ever again...just want to see if that held to be true :)

No, I didn't go. That being said, I guess it shows that you shouldn't step outside of your wheelhouse. Diablo Cody's a great writer, but when you stop writing dialogue (Tara, Juno) and start writing demonic possession, I guess something is lost.

They are the archetype of his "my head is jammed all the way up my rear because everybody I meet has spent their entire life on the upper west side" runway wiggle, but I wouldn't call that all of him or even the most important part of him, obviously, since I have no patience for that, but I like a lot of his work.

Take the Money and Run, Zelig, The Front, Sleeper, Bananas -- all great Allen movies with only the slight odor of his narrow NYC parochialism.

I rented I love you man the other day and was surprised at how much I ended up liking it.

Wasn't a bad start with Karen from the Office being in it.

I think what I liked the most about it was the plot revolved exactly around my friend Peter Glavin and the star's name is Peter Klaven.

Weird coincidence? I dont know but it made it even better!:D

I agree, much better job outta Rudd than Role Models which sucked.

Incorrect...I may agree with you on a lot of things but your taste in movies sucks :D

(not to say I love You Man isnt great, cause it is)

I don't get what everyone loved about Role Models, it wasn't that funny and it was just meh all around. And the woman in that who's in Glee really sucked in Role Models. Jane something or other.
