How is Bowdoin still ranked when they have four losses and a tie in their last five games and are no longer in first place in the NESCAC?
I think Norwich is playing really, really good hockey right now. Without a doubt top 3, Oswego St. Norbert or Norwich are 1-3 it doesn't matter where you put them. In a fair world Castleton makes it in automatically without a question. Sure the strength of schedule is easy, but 19-3-1 speaks for itself.

Tell that to Adrian and MSOE fans or any MASCAC team.
Having seen both Oswego, Elmira, and Hobart in the past 3 weeks or so. Elmira is definitely a lot better than people outside the ECAC West is giving them credit for. It was a one game sample, but Elmira looked better than Oswego.
I think Josh and I are giving them all the credit in the world. We have had them at #2 in the East since we started our projection. However I do see your point. The USCHO poll is a joke, but what else is new.
The lack of respect can also be said in regard to Utica, despite their less than stellar weekend.
Now that is a giant leap!I have seen that both you and Josh have them at #2 in the East, but, I can't help but think that if Oswego loses in SUNYAC tourney and Elmira wins the ECAC West tourney, Elmira might jump Oswego for the #1 in the East.

All a matter of perspective - I too have seen them both in recent weeks....and at the beginning of the year. Soaring Eagles are definitely playing their best hockey now....Oswego has maintained a high level all season, last week's speed bump aka the Morrisville game notwithstanding.....both teams will go as far as their goaltending will take them....Oz is 2-0-0 against EC this year, but that was a long time ago...still, I would take the Lakers...Having seen both Oswego, Elmira, and Hobart in the past 3 weeks or so. Very doubtful, if for no other reason Oswego is 2-0-0 against Elmira this year.
Very true.

When the NCAA rankings come out, how will that effect the pairwise? And, if Oswego loses to any team in SUNYACs not named Plattsburgh, with Elmira playing Utica at least one more time, and possibly Hobart, could that cause the COP to be adjusted?
1) It all depends on what teams the NCAA ranks. The teams that they rank will determine the record vs. ranked category. When I formed my projection I took record vs. ranked into account using the teams from my rankings to form the records. But yes, it will have an impact which could/will alter future projections.
2) Depends what you mean by adjusted. If you mean will the records change, then yes. If you are referring to who wins the category, then it may or may not. That said, it doesnt matter because the common ops in this case doesn't have any effect. Oswego wins this comparison largly on H2H and win%.
Because the USCHO Poll doesn't mean anything.
Bowdoin does this every season...It really is almost comical.
Does anyone know what time the smoke will clear today??
Around 2 p.m.
In what time zone? Because it's already almost 7:30 here![]()
