Given Morrisville's (5-2-1 SUNYAC, 5-3-1 overall) win over Geneseo (5-2-1 SUNYAC, 8-3-2 overall), IMO, they deserve more respect than they are likely to receive.

Utica deserves better than #13 "By Far" Losing to the #1 team Oswego 2-1(hitting the pipe on a breakaway in the third too) and 3-1 earlier this year. Of their four losses two to Oswego...one to Neumann and one to Elmira...all ranked teams. I think 10 or better would be appropriate.

I do like Utica, and I am impressed with their SOS, unfortunately, that is also their down fall, they played well, but alas, not well enough when facing the teams that could get them into the top ten

Elmira is not ranked. Unfortunately what we all "think" and what the pollsters actually come out with doesn't oftentimes line up. Just the way it is. Remember, this is a poll prediction of how it shakes out and not how I would rank the teams.

Remember, this is a poll prediction of how it shakes out and not how I would rank the teams.

If that's the case, I doubt Amherst's win over Salve Regina would displace both Wis-EauClaire & Wis-Superior.

Amherst was just barely out of the poll last week and they won. The two teams in front of them lost. Castleton gets in and I think Amherst slides in to. Amherst might actually be #15 and Castleton #14.

Amherst was just barely out of the poll last week and they won. The two teams in front of them lost. Castleton gets in and I think Amherst slides in to. Amherst might actually be #15 and Castleton #14.

Call it a homer opinion, but...

Castleton beat the #3 team in the nation in OT, and beat an unranked opponent in OT.
In the same week, Plattsburgh beat that same unranked opponent 4-1, along with another 4-1 W. Plattsburgh has also beaten that same ranked opponent by 1 goal.

Plattsburgh is currently riding the second-longest unbeaten streak in DIII, behind 7-0-1 Williams

Last week, Plattsburgh received 22 votes and was second out of the poll
Last week, Castleton received 5 votes and was well out of the top 15.

With their weekend split, Eau Claire now have 6 victories over teams that are(*6,7,& 9) or were ranked in the USCHO Poll.
I doubt that there's another team that can make this claim and I'd be surprised if they dropped out of this week's Ranking.

Utica has improved making this year even tougher in the ECAC-W

I'm beginning to think that it's more a function of the other four EW teams regressing to Utica's level of play. Other than Oswego, I've not witnessed any really good teams this season. (And no, Hobart beating OSU doesn't qualify since they had Friday night off while the Lakers were going toe-to-toe with Utica)
