New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

Re: New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

Wasn't there a situation where BU HAD to win the regular season finale at UNH or they would have been out and NU in as the 9th seed, and if necessary, Parker was going to pull his goaltender in OT, though they scored, I think to win and clinch the last spot (might have been the year they beat BC, the top seed?)

Re: New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

Not really trying to get into this style debate, but BU may try to play that way (haven't watched closely enough)...but really, they lack the personnel to do so IMO. To me, right now, the top three offensive teams in the league are BC, UNH and Maine. I see a dropoff after those three. JMO. Anyway, let's be honest here...no coach would describe how his team plays as "wide open". Sure, York loves up-tempo hockey, but I can guarantee you the two recent games against NU had him pulling some hair out...

dude has his head so far up parker's azz he obviously doesn't even watch the games.. not to mention he thinks college hockey started in 2009. ergo, ignore him. bu should rename their team 'the jersies' when they play BC because how much they hang all over them.

The fewest Canadians per roster standings this season actually has a surprising leader:

1. Vermont (0)
2. Boston College (1- MacLeod)
3. New Hampshire (2- Hardowa, Kipp)
4. Providence (5- Beaudry, Cross, Farrer, Kramer, Shemanski)
5. Boston Univ (7- Chiasson, Cisse, Courtnall, Gill, Millan, Rollheiser, Trivino)
5. Maine (7-Abbott, Amestoy, Banwell, House, Ouellette, Sirman, Van Dyk)
7. UMass (8-Dainton, Filiou, Gracel, Guzzo, Hanley, Hobbs, Langeraap, Lecomte)
7. Northeastern (8-MacLeod, McLaughin, McNeely, Muench, Oleksiak, Pimm, Rawlings, Reid)
9. Lowell (10-Boulanger, Budd, Campbell, Cey, Edwards, Ferreira, Ickert, Thompson, Vallorani, Wright)
10. Merrimack (13-Allan, Barton, Bates, Bly, Demers, Ellis, Heywood, Madsen, Ouimet, Ross, Sheen, Stollery, Todd)

Only three teams have non-Canadian foreigners:

Merrimack (1 Frenchman- Da Costa)
Vermont (2 Swedes- Nilsson-Roos, Stalberg)
Maine (3 Swedes- Andersson, Leidermark, Nyquist)

i suppose that is interesting.. although its certainly possibly that sneddon already andy glassed all his Canadians off the team.. furthermore, the vermont kids probably should have dual citizenship anyway just from living up there in quebec jr.

BC-UNH...for me it means getting to see Joe Mullen, Paul Skidmore, Billy O'Dwyer and other friends back when I enjoyed playing them........

Apparently you played WITH a couple of my dorm mates - Bruce Rintoul and Frankie Barth. Good guys, too many puck bunnies to keep straight.;)

That's the era I started going to games as a kid...... Frank Barth, Dana Barbin, Greg Moffet..... great memories!!

Barty and Tool were great guys, as was Moffy....they were freshman the year after I graduated...I believe...Coady and Francis were freshman my senior year....do you guys remember the game at BU, where Moffy and Durocher went head to head? I loved that game as both of them were remarkable....we might not have the NC trophy, but we're family...such great guys to have as teammates and lifelong friends!

Less than 500 tickets remaining for Fridays game, looks like it'll be yet another sell out.

Any idea on tickets for Saturday? My trip up would be dependent on Friday's result.

I don't recall many away games, unless they were on TV. I was probably 12 yrs old at the time and while my dad had season tickets we didn't go to any away games back then. My first "away" game was the 1979 ecac semi's at the Garden. I met Charlie Holt after the game and he signed my program, and we talked to Dana Barbin. I was a pretty happy kid that night!

Did you call the BC ticket office? You can see if they have any tickets left from their allotment for the game at UNH.

BC-UNH...for me it means getting to see Joe Mullen, Paul Skidmore, Billy O'Dwyer and other friends back when I enjoyed playing them....lately it seems that BC is just a machine, maybe because I don't know the players other then them just winning year in, year out....probably envious of a program that never seems to have money issues (Boston tax issues?) just keeps on winning...not this weekend though...playoffs will have to take care of itself....
You know I probly not saying dis often enough mais I tink you awesome.

Et dat make 2 of us including you, eh?

I believe UNH is focused on one thing only.

he always does

Your mighty eagles should sweep UNH this weekend. If they don't, I will expect an explanation as to why the mighty eagles couldn't finish off a team with no hardware. Thank you.

LOL. You expect a reason for why a team with hardware should beat a team with no hardware when the whole point in making fun of UNH is they always seem to do great during the regular season but die in the post season? If BC somehow drops both games, I'm pretty sure BC fans will just sit back and wait for their team to roll through the play offs. Now if they can not do that, well they can wait again for the NCAA's. It's a big if for BC to worry about UNH being there.

Nope. You're right. BC is the greatest ever. UNH has no business winning any of these games. If UNH is fortunate to even tie once, I look forward to the explanation, that's all.

I have no desire to make fun of the RS title, but were you around last season when UNH came back from a 3-0 deficit against BC to earn a tie and the RS title? UNH proceeded to lose to UVM in the playoffs and then was embarrassed by RIT in the NCAAs. On the other hand, BC went on to win both the HE tournament and national championship. I don't think anyone here is calling UNH a bad team and nobody would be surprised if BC doesn't get the three points necessary to win the RS title this weekend.
