New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

Re: New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

Ya think? I believe the kid is the leading scorer in the best conference in D1.

Ummm, he doesn't play in the WCHA, he plays in Hockey East. No wonder why you are :confused

Re: New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

Is your name Carmine? Move along....

No my name is not Carmine, it's Paul Thompson, and I am the best hockey player in the greatest conference in all the land. Perhaps you noticed my 6 goal performance this weekend to help UNH win the HE regular season title. I tried to wave to you in the crowd, but you didnt notice.. You seemed :confused

Re: New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

If he did, that would have explained why he was not even noticeable this weekend.

It's great, he's the top scorer in the league. He's also about the 5th best player.

Carmine, Thompson wasn't there. Here's what happened, he was told he was the best player in the best conference in D1 so he immediately travelled west assuming he'd been traded to UND or Denver...

umiliated again. a collapse claude juilen would be proud of for the mildcats
Yup, because BC is terrible. Not one of best teams in the country, or anything. UNH should have won this game going away!

Friday night was brutal, but tonight bc took the best unh had and still found a way to win. classy championship level team and coaching staff, too bad a handful of db fans make it hard to be happy for the rest of you.
Indeed.

In the 2007-08 season, UNH went 3W-0L against Maine, BU and BC in the regular season. They got a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament and were sent out to Colorado Springs to play Notre Dame. I'd just as soon forget what happened. It's highly unlikely that BC will have that kind of difficulty this season.

The difficulty of simply going west?

how many hillbilly bucks do you want to bet that Umile wrote this song to his team?

Weep for yourself, my man,
you'll never be what is in your heart.
Weep little lion man,
you're not as brave as you were at the start.

Tremble for yourself, my man,
you know that you have seen this all before.
Tremble little lion man,
you'll never settle any of your score.

But it was not your fault but mine
and it was your heart on the line.
I really f----d it up this time
didn't I, my dear?

is it possible to describe a UNH hockey season any more perfectly? those poor little lion men, they never had a chance!

Re: New Hampshire vs. Boston College - Mar 4/5 - Battle for Top Seed

If BC goes west, so what? Seems they won a couple of championships out west these last few years. That teams seems as prepared as anyone to play anywhere. For UNH, I doubt they drop to a four anyways. They will roll UVM, especially after what happened last year, and make the semis. I think they are a three at worst.

I think, from a fan's perspective, it's better to have your team close by. It's just cheaper, for a fan, to be able to go and watch them. A team as well-coached as BC won't have any trouble winning, anywhere -- but wouldn't you rather watch them live, than on ESPN, and possibly have to listen to Barry Melrose?
