New CCHA Back From The Ashes.

Hearing from reliable sources that Don Lucia will be introduced as the new CCHA Commissioner, likely this week and possibly as early as Wednesday.

If it was on Zoom ....It will be like the start of the Iditarod.......Lap dogs everywhere.

It looks like it was on Zoom, and it would have been nice to have some lap dogs in charge of it rather than the Wildcats of NMU. I know it's the coronavirus era and things are different than they normally would be, but I am surprised how unpolished that whole thing was. BGSU or someone else should take over the streaming from NMU.

No kidding. There should a little more...you know...commitment and institutional support. :)

My question is: Wasn't Lucia opposed to older college players when he was coaching the Gophers? Has he now changed his position? If not, he should not be qualified to be Commissioner. I listened to the news conference, waiting for that question to be asked, but it wasn't

Lucia was only against that calculus when he coached MN they had a ton of top-end one and done young guys.

Well, since the league doesn’t yet have a staff hired, who would you have liked to do it?

Why BGSU? Why not LSSU, or even Tech? I am just curious as to why NMU gets thrown under the bus for a Zoom broadcast. I didn't see it. Was it broadcast from Marquette? I mean, NMU may be guilty of a ticket conspiracy, but responsible for the lack of organization for a CCHA Zoom broadcast, really? Please expound on the NMU shortcomings, how were they responsible?

Another reason they are in the ccha. Be Happy........ nobody will ask them to bail from the league after that talent show.

People are pretty defensive about Northern in this thread. It’s OK to admit they did a subpar job. I mean look at that video starting out with some random guy and then cutting to someone’s dining room and then getting to see Lucia’s ceiling.

I suggested BGSU handle it because they are Division 1 and I assumed they had better capability to handle this moment than the other schools would have. Just because it’s a new league doesn’t mean we have to accept looking dumb.

edit: just went back and watched it again. At least NMU figured out how to edit the video to not have their tech guy in it at the beginning randomly.
