Nescac 2011-2012

Re: Nescac 2011-2012

I wish the announcers knew that Hamilton IS the 8th seed next week. They keep saying Conn is in 8th - conn is done.

Also, Drolet, Brazier, and Griffin all played junior - the midd roster only lists last school, instead of last team so you wouldn't know it.

Hey, I'm not arguing that Amherst isn't a MUCH older team full of junior players. I just wanted to point that Midd does have a couple of junior guys. I don't have a horse in this race - just enjoying a pretty good game and a good call by you guys.

Re: Nescac 2011-2012

Charlie, I'm really impressed that you'd pay the seven bucks to see Midd play! I've watched the Norwich action for free several times this season... what a class act that production is!!! I hope that you got "your money's worth". It was a good game wasn't it? Midd maybe doesn't have the talent to match up, but the effort and scrappiness was there. After the showing in Northfield this year I find it hard to believe that a Wick fan would have any interest...you are the real deal, man. Best Wishes, JD

Re: Nescac 2011-2012

so how good is this goalie from Amherst ?? looks like he let up a few big goal games vs. the better teams???

Re: Nescac 2011-2012

Well, Midd and Bowdoin advance by 2-1 scores respectively over Wesleyan and Trinity. One question about John Guay of Wesleyan? I am assuming he is the brother of Panther, Jim Guay, who was briefly a member of the hockey team, but most notable for his exploits on the lax field.

Tufts season ends in OT at the hands of Williams. Now just one participant to be determined for the final four with Midd, Bowdoin, Williams and the winner of Amherst Hamilton headed to next weekend. Amherst having little problem thus far as they lead 2-0 after one period

With Amherst steamrolling Hamilton 6-0, the final four will be Amherst vs. Williams and Midd vs Bowdoin all at Amherst.

Re: Nescac 2011-2012

I guess thats how they work it in that conf.??

Isn't that how they work it in all conferences? The tourney is reseeded after the quarters. In this case it's 1 versus 5, and 2 versus 3. The highest remaining seed gets to host.

SUNYACs, the higher team gets the home ice until its over, they dont play 2 semis at the top seed.....

Re: Nescac 2011-2012

Has Amherst locked up an NCAA bid, even if they stumble this weekend? Or do they still need to win the tournament?

I'd say they are pretty much a lock.

Norwich, Amherst, Plattsburgh and Oswego I think are safe to call "locks" in the tournament. After that, it's anybody's guess.
