Great team effort by the Panthers getting this far and congratulations on getting the NESCAC back to the final and so close to another championship.

Yes, but more too much Elmira. Great TEAM effort, and a wonderful story to get there and win it. Congrats to all teams.

Don't think that this is old news: Amherst defender Ashley Salerno to forego her senior year at Amherst and join former Amherst coach Jim Plumer at UVM for the final season of her college hockey career.

not in women's hockey. only in sports like basketball, men's hockey, football and maybe a couple others.

most sports have one time transfer exceptions that allow immediate participation on your first transfer.

Congratulations to Ashley! A steady stay at home kind of D who never received the recognition her heady play in that role deserved.

I thought D-III to D-I transfers had to sit out one year?

For men's hockey but, for some odd reason, not for women's hockey. Eligibility is immediate following a D-III to D-I transfer -- the surprise is that it does not happen more often . .

Speaking of Amherst:

Was told over the weekend, that Coach Matthews' "Interim" designation has been upgraded to Head Coach at Amherst. I see the website has been updated, as well.
