nCoV 2019-2020 Outbreak

Ah- ok. My "observations" (which means nothing) are that it may reduce the spreading of it, but it does not kill it. Otherwise, it would not be a big deal in US areas like So Fl or Puerto Rico- which it is.

Actually, here in the US, one of the worst things about the flu is the workaholic attitude that so many have. Or the endless pressure to work. There's an amazing current commercial that shows this in spades- a flu treatment commercial where the sick person is a TEACHER and is going to school to work. I interact with way fewer people than teachers do, but would never go to work if I have real flu symptoms.

The flu is affected by heat and humidity. It prefers cold dry air. That's why there is more of a true flu season at the higher latitudes but not near he equator.

But that does not mean it will totally go away, which is what many people seem to think. It's still a problem in hot and humid areas....

Yeah, like Americans and their "Freedoms!!!!!" are gonna react well to their government telling them to remain in their homes.

Just put on a Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon.

Better still, put on a West World marathon. The people who go shopping get what's coming to them.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">38% of Americans wouldn't buy Corona beer "under any circumstances" because of the coronavirus, according to a recent survey. <br><br>Just to be abundantly clear: There is no link between the virus and the beer. <a href="https://t.co/xNUnkZvwtE">https://t.co/xNUnkZvwtE</a></p>— CNN International (@cnni) <a href="https://twitter.com/cnni/status/1233393636672446464?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 28, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

We live in a stupid country. Dumb to the core.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/02/about-corona-poll/607240/

But this connection is manufactured, and Torossian is ignoring far more mundane reasons Americans might not buy a Corona, including that they don’t like the taste. Of those Americans who did report regularly drinking Corona, only 4 percent said they would now stop drinking the beer.

A number of major news outlets appear to have walked right into the trap. Because they did not understand that the original press release was walking a fine line between deeply misleading claims and outright lies, their articles have inadvertently fallen on the side of the lie. As a viral tweet by CNN put it, the survey supposedly found that 38 percent of Americans would not drink Corona, “because of the coronavirus.”

It is one thing for unscrupulous PR agencies to get their name out by trying to mislead the public in a shameless manner. It is quite another for some of the country’s most prestigious and well-known media outlets to let themselves be played.

After repeated phone calls, emails, and tweets to 5WPR and its chief executive, I was finally able to get access to the full questions asked in the poll. These make clear that the survey was a fishing expedition designed to elicit viral stats.

1. Survey company deliberately crafts poll to generate results that can be misinterpreted.

2. Survey company releases results and media falls for it, causing survey company's name to go, ahem, viral.

3. Profit.

Americans are stupid, alright. Just not the way we think we are.

I'm not calling out Scoob here. We all fell for it.

Oh ****!

Yeah, it won’t go away but hopefully it’s like influenza then it will spread less by aerosol and won’t survive as long on surfaces, which makes it easier to contain.

This guy has no place being anywhere but a bath house

Let's see how our friends at Faux "News" are handling the story...

But that should not stop the world from trying to contain in NOW. By showing articles that suggest that it *might* reduce in warm, humid weather, that becomes a suggestion that we should do less now. (again, we have no proof that THIS virus will follow the same pattern- some suggestions, but no actual hard science about this one.)

Again, right NOW we should be trying everything we can to make this NOT another flu that we have to deal with every single year. Yea, my international travel may not be canceled due to summer, but we should be trying to contain this now- not reduce effort.

Only a moron would suggest we should sit around and do nothing because new infections _might_ slow down when temps and humidity goes up.

I don’t think anyone, even Trump, has suggested that we reduce effort and hope the weather helps us out...

Other than calling this a hoax? Forgive me for thinking that calling this a hoax does suggest that we reduce the effort.

Still, given where we are in the situation, the thought that it may or may not go away when it gets warm and humid is moot. The fact that you keep bringing it up is not all that smart. If you really think that it would not put people at "ease" which would then reduce effort, you are misleading yourself.

There's no actual harm in taking this overly serious. There is for taking it less serious. You decide what message you are trying to put out.

Re: nCoV 2019-2020 Outbreak

Relax more help on the way

“ Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Stephen Hahn were officially added to the White House coronavirus task force, as the Trump administration manages the spread of a deadly disease that originated in China and has since infected thousands in more than 50 different countries.”

Re: nCoV 2019-2020 Outbreak

Pray harder to make the virus go away.

Also, someone may want to test the guy by the doorframe holding a sneeze in...
