UW-Stout had no problems handling the Pointers last night. They again out shot UWSP and were able to beat the freshmen Graves for 4 goals. Jumping out to an early lead in the 1st was critical for UW-Stout and really pumped their confidence.

I see UW-Stevens Point's season ending later tonight and the Devils' will make it to the 2nd round. Their confidence is back and the team is excited like I haven't seem them in awhile. They looked very solid on the ice tonight as they controlled the majority of the game, even with the multitude of injuries they are facing right now.

However, I feel it could be a real gongshow as there was a few scrums last night and I'm sure tonight will be even worse.

I love Stout and like anyone else I had high expectations. What can I say we lost Karma is a B**** and you can’t blame me for thinking we would be good this year. It has taken some time but I realize we hit lighting in a bottle last year. Oh well. What can you do??? I am very disappointed with the fan base. It just gives Stout and me a bad name when half the crowd leaves going into the mini game on a Saturday night. It was my last home game as a student here, well 90% sure. Who knows where the fan base will be?? Good luck Point. I will be cheering for St Norbert based off Suter spitting at me in the game. I also think Norbert will have the best chance to help the West get back some credit after the beating we took this year. Well good luck all. Sorry I am not on here more you know that whole class, work, and play another sport thing takes over my life Plus cheering at other events not just hockey!
Ps thanks for the hat credit cost a bit to make but I wore it to every game!

Who leaves before a mini-game? Was it getting too cold in the DunnCo Milking Parlor? Anyway, still no write-up on stouthockey.com yet. Perhaps the DAs are the best front-running fans in the nation. At least it's been a warm spring. Be able to get on the golf course sooner.

After seeing what happened, you can probably say that. You can say that about any of the sports here it truly is a shame. I am truly disappointed with the season based on play and fans!!!

Seriously, people left before the mini-game? So many mini-games end up in OT and there isn't a more gut-wrenching/exciting event in sports than sudden death where you are one bounce away from a thrilling victory or a season ender. If I was having a heart attack, and I swear I've come close in a few of these mini or OT post-season games, the paramedics couldn't drag me out.

Heckler, did the students understand that the mini game was going to happen? This was the first mini-game in school history, so no one has seen them before at the DunnCo.

Being the big time hockey fans that the Stout student section claims to be, I would have thought they would have been up on the whole two-game series/mini-game format? Maybe the outdoor fire(and associated beverages) means more to them than the game??

Thats a joke if you think I am unrealistic I thought we would win and with a 5-1 win in the first game I was for sure we would roll. Point proved me wrong thats for sure. I think Norbert will win and still not sure about the other game. OT game where now a days it only takes 50 seconds. Regardless I have been impressed with St norbert from the first week they played here at Stout. They will take back the Peters Cup and go on.

I remember my first playoff win in 7 years. :rolleyes:

On another note, predicting UW-Stout to advance after Friday's game was quite logical. Sadly that prediction didn't hold up.
Story of our season, roller coaster. Overall, good season Devils'!

How can a sub .500 season, finishing 4th in the NCHA regular season, and not even making it out of the NCHA Quarterfinals be considered a good season? Especially after making it all the way to the Frozen Four last year. Mediocre to horribly disappointing would probably be more "logical".

I think Caveman may have been eluding more to the predictions and statements as follows(this is not an all inclusive list):

-Stout will win he conference no problem.
-Lookout Primelink, Stout's coming to roll you.
-Norberts has nothing on stout.
-The goaltenders will dominate the NHL10 tourney. (this may have actually happened?)
-Stout will "easily" handle Point tonight.
-The DA's are the best hockey student section, ever.


Stouts 10-13-4 season is their worst since '04-'05 when they had an identical record, then you go back to '02-'03 when they were 6-21-0. In October, this probably would not have been the 'overall good season' you conceited *****s were shooting for...? But I may be wrong.

This was the big one for me. SNC kicked the crap out of Stout the first series yet the 2nd best team won. We were told by several how everyone was playing for 2nd place because Stout would run away with it "because they are Stout." My opinion of Stout went the way of this year's record because of the ridiculousness.
