NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

Re: NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

Congrats to Michigan on punching their ticket to the Frozen Four! From a neutral perspective it was a fun two days of hockey for me.

Re: NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

This game showed why CC was about a .500 team this year. I don't want to take anything away from Michigan as they played a great game and certainly deserved to win, but this wasn't the same team that played on Friday. All season CC has shown they have the abillity to go out and beat anyone in the country. Usually they follow that up with proving that they can also be very average.

Reminds me of the beginning of this season. Friday we could beat anyone but Saturday the Mighty Ducks would destroy us...

Re: NCAA West Regional - 3/25, 3/26 - BC, Michigan, UNO, CC

Idk what happened to BC, They clearly underestimated CC but also once CC got the lead they just fell flat and looked like they didn't know how to get the game back under control. I was also really surprised Muse was left in so long, b/c it was definitely not his night. Boston College was not very physical even though they were generally larger than CC. In general they just weren't prepared for CC. Also it's interesting for such an experienced team almost all of their losses came on the road, and although this was technically a home game for BC, the higher seed, it was more of a home game for CC.
How do you figure it was anything resembling a home game for CC? St. Louis is around 900 miles from Colo. Springs.

you guys are still ****ed about something that happened in 2006 that Eaves had nothing to do with, or what's with the Eaves bashing suddenly?
Eaves handled it like an absolute a-hole after the fact, showing that he's okay with his players delivering cheap shots with intent to injure. So yeah, we still hate the guy and probably always will. Not that I'm one to hold grudges.:o:p Again, most of your fans are great, but your coach is a goon. The Eaves bashing came about because one idiot from the Wisconsin fanbase felt the need to come in here (and on the DU thread) and flame CC. Aside from this, we have not brought that up in a long time.

first, congrats on a great season, and thanks for destroying BC!

second, Eaves is a class act, case closed (but don't listen to me listen to Zach Parise, G. Moore, Robbie Earl, any former players, and then NHL GM's). I'm sorry but the hit Adam Burish delivered wasn't even penalized (and since you haven't talked to Burish you may want to think about what "intent to injure" really means), and was far from malicious. it wasn't like the 2-3 head-shots or hits from behind I see from the sioux on a **** near weekly basis. Testwuide didn't go to the whistle, that's *at least* 50% his fault cause you're coached to play to the whistle.

and what would you want Eaves to do anyway even if it were a penalty? throw Burish under the bus? no coach at this level or above would EVER do that.

It was Scott Thauwald. It was a major penalty, and a game DQ against Burish for the hit, so he was suspended for a game. No, I wouldn't have expected, nor wanted Eaves to throw his captain under the bus. But I found it curious that Burish apologized for it, yet Eaves said that "Scotty hurt himself" and encouraged the play. Adam Burish doesn't exactly have a reputation for being a clean player in college OR the NHL. (That said, I would HAPPILY take him on my team any day of the week. I won't deny that for a second.) I don't think any of us have as much of a grudge against Burish for that (ok, well I know I don't) because at least he manned up to it. There were like 2 secs left in a 3 goal (IIRC) game and the puck was away from the play, so Scott had no reason to be ready for a hit. Honestly, it also doesn't help because Scott Thauwald was also a major fan favorite of ours. I really don't want to rehash the incident in depth, as a couple of us were mostly just irritated by another Wisconsin fan. Most of you handled that with class after the incident and even agreed that it was a dirty play. Our only grudge is with your coach for encouraging it, not your fans AT ALL.

If I was a Wisconsin fan, I suppose I'd be thanking CC as well for doing something my team couldn't do last year and didn't even have a chance to do this year.

you know what? you're becoming a nuisance fairly quickly. your following wisconsin fans around the board. I get it. you're ****ed your team lost and ****ed at us for enjoying that or schadenfreude if you will. understand that makes me **** happy and I don't care what you say about last year. 6>4 in my math and that's what matters. it's made worse that BC has played hockey for about 20 more years than wisconsin.

fair enough. looks like I should re-read the stories then. I was at the game and didn't recall the penalty call, ugh

LOL. I am becoming a nuisance (like you're the lord of the board) by following around a Wisconsin fan...in the West Regional thread. A regional that Wisconsin was not a part of. Yet it's ok for you to "follow around" a CC fan in this thread because you don't like something they said about your coach. Talk about hypocrisy. Any fan is upset when their team loses--that's not a revelation. I just find it amusing that Wisconsin fans were left to cheering against BC. Too funny. You're right about one thing, 6 > 4. Nothing like that tired, irrelevant line when trying to compare the current state of two programs. But, you're not arrogant or anything.
