NCAA Semifinal: Plattsburgh vs. Norwich

Re: NCAA Semifinal: Plattsburgh vs. Norwich

"well funny thing but i would say that it might even could possibly almost be a dilema that PSU and NORWICH compete. but ive got to say that norwich rules the world. we were the first in everything. air was invented at norwich. god is an alumni. what can i say?
and why are psu nasties going to northfield so much anyway?"

Personally, I think this "fan" must have joined Norwich's band wagon recently because IF he/she had been around awhile, some true pride and respect would have tempered his "fanattitude". I'll be in Section 20 row D cheering my team on and sincerely hope I am not sitting anywhere near this person because I want to enjoy the game and appreciate the great competition. That being said, I truly believe Norwich will be able to handle the Cards Friday night and will meet Oswego Saturday for the championship:D Here we go Norwich, here we go.

Yeah, he's a freshman student at NU. Definitely new to the Cadet "bandwagon". (Oh, and he has joined the Corps of Cadets on campus, according to my friend, so hopefully that will add some pride and respect)

But it's cool. I know he's going to shut up friday when the Cards pull off the win. :D

Now that is competition, good clean fun.:) Good luck Cards, may the "best team win", for the third time this season.:D

Re: NCAA Semifinal: Plattsburgh vs. Norwich

On paper Norwich is much better, on ice it would seem the same but... We all remember that super bowl Giants against Patriots game same thing on paper and on the field but....... as we know things can happen I wouldnt count it positive yet till that three goal lead shows on the board or the final buzzer sounds.

You are spot on about... "anything can happening". And just as the Giants taught the Patriots a lesson in surprise we all remember how surprised Colby seemed against Norwich, while leading by one goal with 14 seconds to go in the game and.... A few weeks later it was Babson that was surprised when leading Noriwich by a goal with 51 seconds to go in the game and... And of course, last weekend Elmira learned all about surprises while leading Norwich by a goal with 44 seconds to go and...

McShane apparently later told these mostly Freshmen kids that its moment(s) like these that build a team's character and gives them the knowledge that they can make any thing happen midst the worst of circumstances.

So while I would never, never count Plattsburg out--I wouldn't assume for a moment that this Norwich team is not seasoned enough to manage the pressure of a tight game. They have proved that they can. Actually, both teams have the skill and brains to seize the right moment and make anything happen. I am looking for and expect real fireworks full of surprises from both teams. :)

You may say that you won the shootout, but my buddy the NCAA says that it never happened, so I believe it was just a tie. ;)

Over in Northfield next to the Norwich campus there is an almost new bridge over the Dog River. Interested in buying a bridge? Just think of the toll revenue. ;)

There is no arguing that Norwich has more Tallent than Plattsburgh ;) and Cards might get trout fisherman to pay to use the bridge, but the NCAA still will consider it a tie :)

:D I would not bet against the Cards. More road games than I can remember. A large freshman class. Injuries. Sickness. And here they are. After what they have been through this season, they will be ready for this weekend. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.;)

To funny. I will be laughing all the way over to Lake Placid Friday. I have watched Plattsburgh play so many times this year that I probable have seen them play more than a lot of regular Cardinal fans.

As they say on livestats

I notice that the Plattsburgh Paper acknowledges the Primelink result

Norwich and Plattsburgh State have already met twice this season, both at Kreitzberg Arena, with the Cadets winning in a shootout in the finals of the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout and then skating to a 4-1 victory.

"We can't be just happy to be there," said Emery. "Norwich is tough at home and we haven't beaten them this season. We're looking forward to playing them on neutral ice."

Bummer, I thought it at least hit the post :p

That was the exhibition matchup, not an NCAA recognized game, I did notice that NUProf counts it as a tie in his "NU Prof's Computer Rankings" ;)
