Interesting Tidbit:

Heenan this morning: "We're expecting to be around 5th."

Either he's being awfully conservative, or the system's flaws could be rearing their ugly head this afternoon.

5th in the East? I can't see that. 2nd or 3rd, possibly, but 5th?

Or is Heenan as clueless to the way things are done as some of his followers...I mean this is thw coach that says teams like Plattsburgh and Norwich don't travel....

I feel like hes attempting to be funny. There is no conceivable way they are 5th in the east. Unless it goes
Norwich/Oz, Bowdoin, Hobart, Utica? That would be the only way I could see that being true. I expect it to be Norwich, Utica, Oz, Hobart, Bowdoin.

Plattsburgh obviously travels a lot because of their location. Noriwch traveled where of consequence this season.... Plattsburgh once? They had about the same number of home games Utica had this season. 14. Utica had 15.

Okay., I just felt that a status was needed since Heenan has us projected to grab the #5 spot this afternoon in the first NCAA rankings.

No, just no. I think he's low-balling us so we don't get our hopes up and then when we're ranked higher, it feels better.

How in their right minds could they possibly have any justification to rank us lower than Oswego, Hobart and/or Norwich?

WHO HAVE THESE TEAMS BEATEN THAT UTICA HASN'T?

Norwich. Good team. Good record. but strength of schedule is not there. Beat Umass-Boston, Castleton. Beat Plattsburgh... and nobody else of consequence in D-III.

Oswego. Lost to Utica TWICE. Squeezed by Hobart, lost to Plattsburgh.

Hobart. Beaten nobody of consequence out of conference. Lost to Oswego at home. Lost to Utica TWICE.

Utica. Beaten Hobart TWICE. Oswego TWICE. Amherst ONCE. Ranked #1 in strength of schedule this season out of every D-III hockey team this season.

I'm sorry, but if you look at who has the best strength of schedule, records, whose beaten who etc.. How do you not put Utica #1 in the East? I mean this so mind boggling at this point, It just doesn't make any sense to not rank Utica #1 in the East.

...It's still morning in the East, but perhaps EMT's on stand by - just in case - is a good idea....:eek:

I've never heard any fans, of any team, chant "We're number 5, we're number 5". Mediocrity is the unattainable goal of the Pioneers. Flame on.... :p
