NCAA Frozen Four 2012 - Cornell vs. Minnesota

Re: NCAA Frozen Four 2012 - Cornell vs. Minnesota

Arm, Brooky or Crazy Dave.
Am sure you are in Duluth (sigh). Can you help me with the following?

Any ideas on how to get rid of the "social" tab to the right of the screen? I had a great full screen most of the first period and then this thing popped up and shrunk my view by 25%. Would appreciate your help! I'm even rootinbg for WI right now. Will you drum me out of the club???? :o

So does the Cornell/Gopher game start at 9:20? or does the NCAA just intent to start streaming video after the first period?

I'm on the road and on my phone and can't find the score. What's the s ore?
Minnesota wins 3-1 with an empty net goal to seal the deal. First, I want to congratulate the gophers on a good win, and you'd better kick some Badger #$@ on Sunday.

Cornell didn't find their legs until the second period at which point they made a game of it.

Re: NCAA Frozen Four 2012 - Cornell vs. Minnesota

I believe the restrictions in regards to alumni are based on what is allowable for campus/home/school visits. There are few restrictions on coaches talking to other coaches or non-family members to assess a players' interest/character/other parts of due-diligence. I would guess 95+% of any one players' recruiting process starts with coaches talking to someone other than the player especially since they can't contact the player directly until after July of their Jr yr. In the case of recruiting Europeans, it's likely that less than half of programs even have a pipeline or relationships with coaches/others within those countries. So an ex-player passing on possible interest is more the norm than the exception. It's a good thing in that it may open up more opportunities for the player and the coaches, and teammates who may end up with a more diverse locker room.

Was very impressed with Minnesota's performance in yesterday's game. First time I'd seen them play. They took it to the Big Red in the first period, and shut them down in the third, so while I was rooting for the Big Red, clearly the better team won.

While I picked Cornell in the precidiction/Polls, it was a "rooting for pick", as based on recent performances, to me Minny was the odds on favorite to take the Crown this year, and they showed why yesterday.

Ironically, if Cornell would have beaten SLU in the ECAC final, they may have ended up with the first seed and a matchup with BC in the semi's.

Last night, the best team won in both games. Should be a great final. Don't have a horse left in the race, so hoping for an exciting final, and to echo Matt's comments, congrats to Cornell on a good season. Special congrats to White and Johnston. Seen both of those players play for years, in the Ontario Minors. Great players who had great college careers and that made an impact on the National stage. White scored the First ever Team Canada U18 goal in Ottawa about 5 years ago. Everyone known Johnston's exploits.
