NCAA Finals Thread - A Fowl taste on Pointer's tongue?

Re: NCAA Finals Thread - A Fowl taste on Pointer's tongue?

Kash was Class of 73, two years ahead of me. He was one of a kind. Played D and was a rough and tumbler.

Congratulations to Trinity. A great team effort (with a little help from some fantastic goaltending) all tournament long. Enjoy this one, because now the target is one your back in everyone's eyes next year ;)

Thanks. We'll enjoy being the target. What a stunner run this was. 3 upsets in a row. Fantastic.

Been a fun tourney to follow again this year... and in the end, could we really have another Wisconsin school win it all? Nice work Trinity.

Re: NCAA Finals Thread - A Fowl taste on Pointer's tongue?

I have to admit that many of us, including myself could not see Trinity winning it all. They had the hardest road to victory. Putting up 5 on Plattsburgh and Adrian should have made me a believer. Their take down of what we considered the best team in the country last night was great.
CONGRATULATIONS to Trinity, their coaching staff and the amazing effort from their Hockey players.

I was a believer after they thumped Plattsburgh as you can see by my picks in the ECAC West pick-um. Plattsburgh had been playing some of their best hockey after going seven straight without a loss until they arrived in Hartford, Ct. I am not sure playing Trinity at Stafford would have made any difference. Trinity was on a mission ! Congrats Trinity.

Congrats. Again. Now I don't feel quite as bad about Friday's results.

Thanks to a certain AD we will never know...

This is the last time I'll say it. I know it wasnt Bruce's fault. You can believe whatever you want though.

Prez is correct. I just happened to be talking to someone, who is in an official sports administration position, on the phone the other day about a different matter, and this subject came up. I asked him flat out who made this decision.

It was NOT Bruce.

There's no convincing hockey fan boys who think that because Bruce coached RIT he has it out for the men's ice hockey team and that him doing his job and looking out for the whole department and ALL of the sports at Plattsburgh is at the men's ice hockey team's detriment.

No Henkle I could care less what/where Dipinthal coached. Has ZERO to do with issues I've had with him and his treatment of the fans who support the LARGEST sport at Plattsburgh State.

So please, fill us in, seeing how no one from Plattsburgh wants to....

I do NOT think it was "Bruce's fault", and doubt ANYONE thinks Bruce said "We don't want to host both", what IS his fault is a failure to anticipate and have an acceptable plan FAR in advance of this VERY LIKELY situation. There is significant reason to believe this (co-hosting potential) would occur and prudent procedure would have been to have something in place - even it was a preseason announcement that it would be impossible to do so. The poor planning IS ultimately Bruce's fault - it happened on his watch.

I am also still waiting to hear what noteworthy contribution Bruce has thought up and implemented in support of the Men's Hockey Program - and not merely being in the right place at the right time.

IMO, the guy needs to return to the respectable job of selling fishing tackle.

Considering the conversation was off the record, I will not fill you in on the details.

However, I will give you a broad, and still correct, answer -- it was the NCAA.
