NCAA Championship Game Adrian Vs St. Norbert

Re: NCAA Championship Game Adrian Vs St. Norbert

I'm really surprised, and disappointed that ncaa.com decided to pull the plug on their webcast before the announcement of the all tournament team. Who was the MVP? I'm guessing Keefer

Re: NCAA Championship Game Adrian Vs St. Norbert

Congrats to Adrian on building such a nice program and getting your first NCAA tournament wins. Trust us SNC fans, we know how frustrating each step can be, but certainly a great season.

Re: NCAA Championship Game Adrian Vs St. Norbert

Congrats to the Green Knights! Great season and great game. It was quite an experience to see nearly half of Ridder Arena full of SNC fans. I think there was easily more fans here in MN than at a home game, and that's saying something. Also, I'm proud of the majority of Adrian fans. They stayed after the game for the award ceremony and applauded BOTH teams. Class act. Great team. Great game. Too bad it's over. Go SNC!

O'Brien got it, however, everyone in the media area thought Keefer was a shoe-in, including the Stouthockey.com staff.

Same here. Can't really go wrong with O'Brien, especially after his performance yesterday which absolutely cannot be ignored, but pretty much everyone figured it would be Keefer.

Congrats to SNC. This sucks, no more DIII hockey until Oct. :-( Oh well, time to get ready for the camping season.

If SNC doesn't have O'Brien then Norwich is your national champion (in my opinion). He saved their bacon in the Second period on Friday night.

If by camping season you mean waterski, lake, and DIRTcar racing season...then yes :)

Re: NCAA Championship Game Adrian Vs St. Norbert

First official race May 14th, last race October 1st....only a 2 week layover unless I put together another late season race....

Canandaigua Motorsports Park for SDS show on June 14th?

I'm interested to see how much Jeremie has improved the place this year.

i would have to agree; it was am amazing game against Norwich, and with minimal shots on goal was an unbelievable win. Having attended my first frozen four, the weekend did not disappoint; enjoyed three great games, had a nice chat with a Norwich dad at breakfast this morning; despite who wins or loses, great fan base for this sport!

They should have given the referees the MVP. I have seen some lopsided calling but that was the worst officiated game i have seen. How can you expect any team to fight off 6 power plays? But amazingly, Adrian still only lost by ONE...thats 1 single goal. I think that's pretty amazing for a 4th year team to be here and play that good against both a team and the refs. Come on 2011-2012 season!!!

Ahh, yes! Blame it on the ref's! I've got an idea, play with some discipline! Your own coach admitted to this in his post game comments. Another thought, win and lose with some class and dignity. Adrian had many fans at the game who did and many posters who have followed their lead. You should learn to do this as well.

Re: NCAA Championship Game Adrian Vs St. Norbert

I thought some of the calls were marginal. Fine. You still cannot allow your opposition to go 3-5 on the power play and expect to win a game, especially in a championship situation. 5 power plays is not overly unusual in a hockey game. There's been many a night in Arrington when we've seen both teams get 8-10 power plays each. Even if the call is bad, you still have to kill the penalty. Adrian did very well with this during the season. They just didn't get it done last night. The scoreboard shows the end result of that. I don't like it, but that doesn't make it any less true.

Congratulations to SNC on another great season. Here's hoping to see you in Lake Placid next year!
(that O'Brien kid IS a senior, right? ;):p

Oh yeah, +1

I'm not going to beat you up too bad for this because I know how it feels to see your team get so close and lose a tough one. Your team played terrific. It wasn't by much, but they were the 2nd best team on the ice Saturday night. I thought about posting this last night but I didn't want to come across poorly. You've opened the door so here it is.

My only beef with your team was how incensed they were with every single call that went against them. Just because it went against your team and just because you wish it wasn't called doesn't make it an awful call. Anything against them meant an automatic b-line for the official and screams from the bench of an innocent man sentence to death. Championship teams don't act like that. The Bulldogs have some terrific things going for them in their quest to establish themselves as a consistently elite programm. One of the things needing work is how they carry themselves. SNC's program was there at one time and it was part of their development and learning process as well as the program matured. I understand your frustration and this type of statement is often predictable after a disappointing loss but you're kidding yourself if you think Adrian got hosed last night. I've never understood this notion that calls need to be even. They don't. They need to be consistent. I didn't think this crew was anywhere near flawless but they didn't cost Adrian the National Championship. SNC got the better of play and played a cleaner game than Adrian, therefore they got less penalties called on them. It's really that simple. Take it from someone who as been there...don't let your frustration cloud your judgment.
