We might be crossing threads here, but make no mistake: SNC is going to conjure up another goaltender. They had O'Brien after Jones. There will be another one to replace O'Brien in short order.

As we discussed at the game, this discipline and composure needs to start with him. His reaction set the tone. When a call goes against your team even if it is soft you can lose your mind or you can buckle down and kill it.

The Adrian fans at the game were top notch. In fact, I'd say all the fans at the game were terrific.

I have little doubt of that, but the unknown might be better than the devil we know.

edit-For those just seeing this, am NOT making any derogatory remarks about the player under discussion....

Missed you this year but had a few chances to talk to your bob sled partner who plays in the Snoopy tourney. Great guy and typical of the great fans from Norwich. Yes, O'Brien is a senior and SNC will have to reload a bit. I am confident that they can get this done. I hope to see you next year in LP. I have to believe that Norwich will be there with their team speed i.e #15. Good Lord, great wheels on that kid.

Didn't get to watch the whole game myself, just bits and pieces. But as Hammer stated, 6 short-handed situations is not unheard of for the Bulldogs. I wish the outcome had been different as do you, but it doesn't pay to blame the refs. Had we had the PK success we did all season long, this game would have been an AC victory in regulation, or maybe gone to OT. You've got to play with the hand you're dealt. Congrats to both teams, it was a great game, and no one should hang their heads on this one.

Looking forward to another match-up with the Green Knights! Third time's the charm? If nothing else, I would at least like to meet some of SNC's first-class fans! And a new West-region rivalry would be great :)

in my opinion if the Lakers didnt hit a crossbar and a post they would have been the Champs........CONGRTS to the Knights, at least they are green and goldish

And obviously had Jones not been reffing the Platty/Norwich game, Plattsburgh would have been Champs...TIC....

I'm embarrassed for you.

p.s. SNC only had 5 PP opportunities, not 6. And if you think Adrian only being able to kill off 40% of those chances is normal, then I'm even more embarrassed for you.

10-4..and if... if and butts were fruits and nuts.........well you all know the rest, goalies stand on their heads, teams hit posts and crossbars, and refs make mistakes sucks but s--t happens.......have a fun off season all.......

You were drunk when you wrote this right? There are some real entitled *****s in the Adrian fan base that really give the other half of level headed fans a bad name. Not only fans but even the players felt the need to whine...'It seemed like every time we had momentum the referee found a reason to put his arm in the air'. Sam Kuzyk of Adrian said that. Yea it was the ref hunting for reasons, not what you were doing on the ice. Just lose with pride and admit you got beat and call it a season. God ******. maybe mitch albom will get you a story on sportscenter to whine about how your season which was a 'mission from god' came to an end at the hand of the refs.

Congratulations to St. Norbert on their well deserved national championship.
The Green Knights are a "Poster Team" for those who believe that "defense wins championships".

They frustrated a very fast and very skilled Norwich team on Friday, and managed their game against Adrian on Saturday in similar fashion, from the crease out, with discipline and defense...... to win it all.

While special teams play were telling stats on the score, ultimately the victory was won by a St. Norbert team dedicated to controlling their opponents' scoring opportunities, blocking shots, clogging passing lanes , and winning wars on the boards.

St Norbert had a terrific and very large group of fans who celebrated their team's win with great class.

Adrian's supporting cast of families, friends, and faculty that gathered to cheer on our Bulldogs were absolutely incredible. The future is bright for our relatively new and growing Bulldog fandom.

BullDog4ever - How can you blame the refs. If you look at your team stats for the year your team averaged 8.16 penealties per game going into the championship. Do you only blame the refs if it is an Adrian loss. Looks like your team has a history of being penalized and SNC did penalize you for doing it. Your team is all class and so are the fans - to bad you do not fall into their mold.

My point was to give some praise to O'Brien and validate the fact that in my mind his play was THE deciding factor in the tournament. I'm NOT whining that Norwich didn't get any breaks - I'm praising the Knights not complaining that they were lucky or that Norwich was unlucky.

Oh Stop your belly aching and get over it. Maybe if Plattsburgh would have been a little better on the PK you wouldn't be on here complaining about the call. Who are you blaming for the other losses the team had this year?
