NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

Re: NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

Wentworth ran into a scheduling conflict for their arena, and declined to put in a bid to host a playoff game.

They must've got bumped for intramurals... that stinks for them. NU's varsity programs that play in Matthew's are all finished unfortunately.

Re: NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

Word on the street is that the game will be sold out, and that tickets are only available in person through Plymouth's box office. Unless you have access to Wentworth's ticket allotment, you might have to watch the game at a local watering hole. I hear Biederman's Deli is a great place to have a couple sodas and watch the games.

Per Plymouth's Athletic Page... Looks like the NU fans will have a tough time getting tickets to this one unless they're interested in back to back road trips Tuesday/Wednesday or a hotel room Tuesday night...

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Tickets for this Wednesday's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III men's ice hockey tournament game at Hanaway Rink between Plymouth State University and Wentworth Institute of Technology will go on sale this Tuesday, Mar. 6, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Silver Center Box Office on the PSU campus.

All tickets, including seniors, children and PSU students, are priced at $5.00 and only a limited number will be available. Tickets may be purchased only in person at the Silver Center Box Office, as no tickets will be sold over the internet or telephone. The ticket distribution is under the discretion of the NCAA. Each person may purchase a maximum of two tickets.

For more information, contact Tournament Director Dennis McManus at dmcmanus@plymouth.edu or 603-535-2756.

NWU = Northwestern www.northwestern.edu
NEU = Northeastern www.neu.edu

(NU = Norwich :D)

That has been a topic of conversation in our forums. But most of us refer to it as NU. I have no problem with Norwich being another NU. :D

I was wondering at first who all these NU supporters were that I had never seen post before then I saw you guys mention Norwich.

Re: NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

To this day, my mind goes to Niagara before Norwich, and I haven't the faintest idea why.

Re: NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

Word has it that Plymouth is sold out... 600+ tickets gone in under 50min... I guess that new rink on campus turned out to be a pretty ok idea haha.

Interesting, that would be a minimum of 6 purchases every minute.

Re: NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

In reference to Plymouth hockey can anyone tell me if the Plymouth Area High School is considering picking up hockey as another sport. With the PSU rink coupled with the NCAA bid you would think there would a lot of interest in hockey in Plymouth. Also are youth hockey leagues forming with the new rink in town??

I know Holderness school is only 1/2 mile away so have they used the rink for big games or tournaments. The campus is not one of the better prep school rinks. If Plymouth does beat Wentworth I was considering making up a GO PSU sign, however, my wife said I should probale take a rain check or Norwich would take away my season tickets.

No, in fact we would love to have you become a Plymouth State fan. We are considering cancelling your season tickets anyway. :rolleyes::)

Being that the honor code of Norwich states that it is wrong to "lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do", as well as stating "Honor is a virtue which impels loyalty and courage, truthfulness and self respect, justice and generosity. Its underlying principle is truth." I believe there are grounds for the Norwich stakeholders (or steak-less-holders) to demand they be cancelled :eek: :p

hawk with his choice of three teams Plymouth State, Castleton & Norwich must be trying to keep up with Prez and his Prezidential Three

Somebody from Norwich would drive a stake through it.

Re: NCAA 1st Round - Wentworth @ Plymouth State

Seriously does anyone think Plymouth can pull off an upset over Wentworth. The programs at Wentworth and Curry appear to be notch above Plymouth, however, Plymouth did defeat Salem which used to be in the ECAC-E. And playing at home with a big Plymouth crowd should should be a great advantage. It is also nice to see a little interest in some of the leagues that don't get as much attention as the ECAC E and NESCAC in New England. Has anybody noticed how good a job Plymouth Sports info has done promoting the game.
