NBA 2010-11: KobeJesus vs. the LeBronathon

Re: NBA 2010-11: KobeJesus vs. the LeBronathon

Games canceled through December 15, and the players have filed class action lawsuits in California and Minnesota.

Because the owners already filed this summer in NYC, won't jurisdiction revert back to that court instead?

Re: NBA 2010-11: KobeJesus vs. the LeBronathon

Well, it was good while it lasted. Roommate just sent me a text "NBA hahaha". According to him the NHL regular season is boring, while the NBA one is exciting. Turns out he's just a bandwagon fan who turns the Wings on come playoff time. Hope he knows Red Wings have hierarchy since it's my TV. :D

Also, why the race to get the season started on Christmas? I know it's tradition, but the most powerful league in the world, aka the NFL, is also playing that day. Even the Bettman and the NHL was smart enough not to put the Winter Classic up against the NFL.

I don't know, there's only the one NFL game that day (Packers-Bears at 8:20 ET). With the last NBA game scheduled to tip at 5:00 ET, it shouldn't be directly head to head. I think the NBA sees playing on Christmas as sort of their thing, rightly or wrongly.

Oh wow, major screw up on my part. I got New Years and Christmas mixed up, at least in the Winter Classic part. But I still thought NFL was playing everything on Christmas, didn't realize they moved everything to Christmas Eve.

Actually, the Packers and the Bears play the lone NFL game on Christmas night.

All is right at the worldwide leader. They can go back to smearing the NHL and giving it 1 minute of coverage.

Re: NBA 2010-11: KobeJesus vs. the LeBronathon

This scheduling is a total money grab to try and recover lost revenue from the lockout.

They are going to miss 2 months of the season, yet they will only play 16 fewer games then normal?

They're going to end up having some teams play 3-4 nights in a row, especially the teams that share arenas with NHL teams.

That's what I was referring to. Will tickets to the 3rd game in 3 nights be half price? Since it will be some of the worst basketball ever played. No, of course not.

Yes they are pro athletes, but they will have zero time to recover. And the sharing agreements are going to be messy.

Re: NBA 2010-11: KobeJesus vs. the LeBronathon

They get around it by talking about the same NFL game for most of the first half hour of any given Sportscenter or getting pre-rections for the upcoming football games in larger NFL markets and the SEC.

Makes me with the Final Score on FSN never got cancelled. I'd love a straight up hi-light show on Versus.
