Somebody please tell me the Gophers are a more relevant and important program?

Ok, I will.

The Gophers are a more relevant and important program.

Also 'National championships' are 7=7

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Have you ever asked yourself why only a handful of people from your own fanbase and no one, and I mean no one else, recognizes that you have as many titles as NoDak?

Don't be mean, let them have their pretend titles. It helps their self-esteem, which as we all know most Gopher fans are sorely lacking in.

So, despite all the Gopher fans superiority, I still believe we are their greatest rival and these teams are EQUALS in hockey. Not one more successful than the other. I doubt Gopher fans have already forgot UND.

Simple. You need us but we really don't need you. That explains why all the Sue/Whioux fans went nuts about not scheduling you this year. Our fans were disappointed that the rivalry took some time off, but most were okay just watching you get up in arms about it.

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

UMn has sent TWICE as many players to the Olympics compared to UND. 54 to 27.
UMn has sent EIGHT times as many players to the US Hockey Hall of Fame compared to UND. 16 to 2.
UMn has been to the NCAA tournament 35 times, compared to UND's 29. 35 to 29.
UMn has been to the NCAA tourney 30 times in the last 40 yrs, compared to UND's 23. 30 to 23.
UMn has won 54 NCAA tourney games, compared to UND's 46. 54 to 46.
UMn has been to 16 Frozen Fours in the last 40 yrs, compared to 13 for UND. 16 to 13.
UMn has had 4 Hobey Baker Winners, compared to only 2 for UND. 4 to 2.

Now I'll go and look up a few more.

My guess is UMn's contingent in the NHL has probably scored 3 pts for every 2 that UND's contingent has scored.

The only stat that matters is 7>5...

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Given how proud its' fans are of them, Minnesota should probably consider adding a mural of the team's TV ratings at Marriucci.

Maybe they could have a bunch of mini banners made up for the ratings... then they could hang them over all the empty seats at marriucci.

Publis service warning to those who will be staying at the same hotel in Philly as the team with the Logo-That-Must Not-Be-Named: Stay out of the elevators!

Re: National Semi-Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

According to Gopher fans, UND is the little brother that always looks up to Minnesota. They have "moved on" to Michigan, Penn State, and Becky. Of course, if you went to Gopher Puck Live, they talk more about UND than any other program outside of their own.

But lets analyze the little brother syndrome:
UND: more national championships (7>5)
UND: most consecutive NCAA hockey appearances (12>3)
UND: more attended over the last ten years than Minnesota at home and probably a better traveling fan base
UND: more WCHA championships, NCAA appearances, and Frozen Four appearances since Hakstol took over
(cue in the UND chokes in the tournament individuals)

Somebody please tell me the Gophers are a more relevant and important program?

Given that you recruit a bunch of canucks you should have won ever more... Congrats on the consecutive appearences. Let us know when you get to 35 like us and Michigan. Also let us know when you get more than one team to cheer for in ND. Gopher hockey has to compete with a dozen or so equally important and popular teams in the metro area. Hakstol isn't Blaise (you know that MN guy?) and until he wins a championship he is a joke.

Honestly, neither team should be satisfied to win the championship without playing the other at least once in the season so this is exactly how it should be. Whoever wins better win the championship.

You have much to learn about proper smack talk, kemosabe. Also being a MN guy, I'd have thought you'd know how to spell his name.
