People from every other state who read that same compliment applied to their state thought, "politician." People from Minnie cut it out and put in their scrapbooks.
Small puddle frogs are cute that way.
No idea what this is supposed to mean.
Oh man now Minnesotans have to say how important they were to the Civil War? Oy vey.
Sears was founded here, too!
It means, tune on cnbc at 3 am and watch live streaming from house of reps and you have some blow hard giving a passionate speech to an empty house, all so he can send the clip home
they were probably 75th in importance to winning the war[/QUOTE
No dude, they were not 75th in importance. The Battle of Gettysburg is known by ALL, to be the turning point in the war. The Union was LOSING the war going into the battle, and they were losing the battle of Gettysburg until the Minnesota 1st sacrificed themselves, their lives, by charging into the oncoming hoards of Rebel troops, slowing down their charge long enough for all the other retreating units of Union soldiers to regather themselves, turn around and follow the Minnesota First's example, and hence the Battle of Gettysburg was won, and hence the Civil War was won.
They wrote songs about the Minnesota First and its courageous efforts in the Battle of Gettysburg. 75th my ***, much closer to 1st. They may not have contributed the most soldiers to the war overall, but the ones that Minnesota did contribute, made a very significant contribution.
But what would we do without Minnesota: The Dairy State?
