why are the DU fans trolling our thread? jealous, I tell you, jealous! :p:)

everywhere is different, but for hockey atmosphere the Colorado teams don't hold a candle to UND, UofM, Wisco and Tech. I'm saying that as an Air Force fan.

Its because if they make it to the game they're thinking about all of the fun and exciting things that they could be doing in COLORADO because there is just so much to do besides going to watch your favorite team. Just so much more to do than anywhere else in the country!

Big weekend for CC if they don't plan on sweeping through this series and winning at least the first game of the WCHA F5 then they should just let Tech win and stamp their ticket to what they consider the Frozen Four next weekend. At 19th in the pwr only wins and other team's loses will get the Tigers into the big dance which would be great because UND can't beat BC without CC :D.

Any word on how practices went this week after the MTU / Tonya Harding like incident at the World Arena Ice Hall? Is Robinson back in game shape? Is he landing triple axels again? :confused:

our Robostop is healthy and most likely will be in net tonight. the team has enjoyed spending the week cross checking figure skaters into the boards.

At the very beginning of last season, October-early November was when everything started flying around. The plan was first, as far as I know, beginning to take shape that summer before last season. It seemed that it was really DU and UND that started the conversation then Miami hopped on board and, as far as I know, it was really just a contingency plan in case of the Big 10 coming to fruition.

Personally, I have mixed feelings on this whole deal. However, it is what it is and the powers that be made the choice. I don't think anyone just threw Tech away just to do it. It seemed pretty much that people thought Tech wasn't willing to put in the proper effort to try and reclaim their past glory. Dedication to the respective schools' hockey programs was first and foremost in deciding on who to invite to come along.

Also, don't forget that Tech bolted from the WCHA at one point in order to join up with their geographical rivals in the CCHA because that was more important to Tech than maintaining WCHA rivalries. Now, you will once again be in a conference with those same teams you left the WCHA for in the past. It just seems like Tech was never able to make up their mind if they wanted historical rivalries or geographical rivalries nor could Tech ever decide if they wanted to put in proper effort to reclaim their glory of the '60s and '70s. Before blaming everyone else for not being in the mix, maybe Tech should look at themselves and decide what they ever really wanted.

I'll remind the Tech fans. Average attendance - 2,898 per game, 39th in the country, 69% of arena capacity. The (unquestioned) passion of a few hasn't translated into broader success. There's been a lot of criticism in here of perceived attendance woes at CC and DU. But both are still drawing roughly twice as many fans per game as Tech. And sure, maybe there's some corporate sales in there driving up the numbers (seems unlikely in CC's case, but for the sake of argument)... but I'd say corporate buyers are also a sign of a program's success and a community's commitment to it.

Have you ever been there for anyone but Tech? CC is always full for DU and Air Force. Usually full for Minnesota, UND, Wisconsin. Hell, the Bemidji games sold out this year, and there were very few empty seats for the Saturday game of that series. Coming from someone who is at EVERY game, there is no "spin." And BTW: I was at UND for the Icebreaker, and there were a plenty of empty seats for both games UND played in, including their game against BC. There is likely not a venue anywhere in sports (aside from Lambeau Field) that doesn't have a fair number of no-shows.

So +1 for MTU selling twelve suites. I don't think there are even 12 companies with more than 10 employees in the entire county.

Nice to hear the "Let's go Tech" chant over the radio on numerous occasions throughout the game!!!! Way to go Huskies now let's finish this off!!!

Another pitiful and lazy performance from CC. Pearson is a good coach and Tech deserved the win.

Michigan Tech played about as good a road game as anyone can. They absolutely shut down CC for all but the first 5 minutes of the game, holding the Tigers to 9 shots in the 2nd and 3rd periods COMBINED. While CC was god-awful, Tech also had a ton to do with that. So all this CC fan can say at the moment is, "Very well done tonight, Tech."

Let's see what tomorrow night brings!

We had a few chances in the opening minutes but could not put one past Robostop.

Please forgive our friend lack of p3n1s, he tends to show up this time of year. We don't really know where he comes from or how to make him stop. Suggestions are more than welcome.
