MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

No doubt. I would rather people just kick us while we're down at this point. The "you did so well" stuff is like someone taking that knife, twisting it around and then stabbing us in the heart 2 or 3 more times.:(

I'm sure it feels that way but your team played a hell of a series. If they had that same chemistry and jump in their step earlier in the year there's no doubt they would've been close, if not had, home ice. Cook seems to be the goalie of the future for you guys and Pitlick is a stud but from the broadcast it sounded like you were losing a number of quality seniors, this true?

Does Jutting always have to have a word with the refs after EVERY single call? I've never seen a coach talk to the refs so much. Lastly, if anyone knows the feeling of "good game, you guys almost had it" it's St. Cloud fans. You guys have some good kids to build around, question is whether or not Jutting can ever get the job done?

Yes, we're losing Irwin, Harrison, Mouillierat, Gaulrapp, Wiley, and Stewart. The leadership is going to be the questionable part next year. I'm gonna take a wait and see stance on Cook. The kid looks good, but he was our #3 goalie coming into the year.

As for Jutting, that's been a major complaint about him. I think sometimes he gets a bit too worried about the refs and that rubs off on the players. He's toned it down a bit. I sometimes wonder if it doesn't hurt us in teh calls that we do/don't get.

Dear Mavericks,
We asked you to do one simple thing and you couldn't do it.... we are no longer friends. Maybe you should call minnesota and see if you can set up a tee time.

Play-in game goes into six ot's with Flickertails winning. Starts to get clobbered by Denver and with ten minutes left in 3rd with the score 8-0 Denver, HACKstal orders Lammy, Blood and other goons to take as many Pios out as they possibly can. Goons are suspended for first NCAA game, lose, and McIdiot suspends HACKstol from coaching for first part of next season.:p

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

The whole chain of events did not sit well with Minnesota State coach Troy Jutting, though he didn't blame either team. "I thought it was devastating for the kids," Jutting said, referring to the official's penalty call. "I thought maybe it was unfair for both teams for the game to be decided maybe by a guy who doesn't understand hockey."

Not only did they lose but Jutting's wallet is going to be a little lighter.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

As much as I love our celebration for goals, I really dislike the "Sieve, You S#CK" at the end of an OT season ending goal. Maybe it is just me, and I may get flamed, but there is nothing the goalie can do after that goal...however, I have a feeling Cook will remember that the next three years.

At least I did not hear the "Season's Over" chant...

When did he say that? Wasn't in anything I read today.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

I think they may have attributed that to the wrong guy actually. That is very similar (if not exactly the same) as what Darrin Blue said on his post-game interview with KTOE. He followed that up by talkign about how it was a shame that was called after Kael got checked from behind and, I think his exact words were, "almost had his neck snapped" with about 3 minutes in regulation.

Same thing Jutting is probably exclaiming ;)

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

SCSU will win on Friday (actually Saturday), Mankato will win on Saturday (Friday), and SCSU will win in the eighth (first) overtime on Sunday... but, in doing so, five of their starters will get hurt/banned (nobody that we know of), and they'll lose both their Friday and Saturday games at the X. They'll limp into the NCAA playoffs as a low three seed, get placed out east, and they'll score five seconds into the game before giving up seven unanswered goals to go 0-9 all time in the NCAA Tourny.
Even though my prediction is thus far fairly accurate, I can't help but feel pretty good about watching my team play at the Xcel in a few days. Of course, that feeling is obviously temporary, as the rest of my prediction will play out as written above. :(

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Outside of a bulldog win, the only thing that makes me smile more is SCSU holding true to form in classic late season choke mode. Now if only you could get back to being a number 1 seed and then lose in the 1st round. Come on SCSU, you can do it!

I thought we agreed you couldn't mention SCSU in a post for a year... oh that's right, you knew we'd finish ahead of you so you backed out of the wager. I'd call you Gutless Wonder, but I've heard you've actually got quite a gut on you.

That's ok, nobody wants to be your friend. I'm not saying UND fans, I have lots of UND friends, we just don't like YOU.

RwtD brought this up after the Duluth overtime winner... sorry, you let in a goal, particularly that close to moving on, gotta expect to hear it. Maybe he uses it as fuel for the next few years, good for him, but that's the way it is.

And you didn't hear the "Season's Over" chant because there was no time. Can't pull that off that quickly.
