Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

F-ck slideshows. If there's a straight list form someplace that would be kinder.

Showed up as a slide show for me just now. Eff that.

Will note due to previous responses: Rescue Dawn is awesome, and not for Bale, although he is awesome in it. Zahn is perfect in his role. That stare....................ooooof.

Solo looks like it will be a fast-paced and fun ride of a movie.

It helps Lawrence Kasdan penned the script.

They may just hit a home run with this one.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

Huh I thought it looked awful...

It looked like pure fan service, as it should be.

I for one would like to expunge the memory of Harrison Ford post-1985 from my head. This is a start.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

You'd look at Cindy Crawford, Elle McPherson and Kate Upton and say they looked awful.

Not bloody likely :D (I was a 100 feet or so away from JLo last night and I sure didnt think she looked awful either ;) )

Of course Disney could put out 2 hours of monkeys throwing poo slap Star Wars on it and you would think it was a triumph ;) (as would half the audience :p )

But hey if Ron Howard pulled it off good for him. The fact that they reshot well over half the film and didnt do a lick of marketing until 5 months before the film comes out tells me a lot but I am rooting for him cause he got dealt a bad hand.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

Figure "Solo" will be worth a popcorn watch at minimum.

The Homesman:

An unwed woman takes the task of transporting 3 other crazy women across the plains, with the help of a low-life fellow. Hillary Swank/Tommy Lee Jones star in this. Slow, tedious, and worth it. Very much a character study type of movie. One twist genuinely surprised me, and it was a good twist. In short, serious movie is serious, but not a heartbreaker or anything.

Bordertown:

CHI reporter hears about a lot of murders/rapes of women in Juarez, discovers a coverup. It was borderline Hallmark/Lifetime movie for the first 2/3 of it, then it finally shed any misrepresentation, and showed what it really was. That's where I shut 'er down. Truly disappointed, as it was a good story.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

How bad could the Solo movie be? It's a standalone film. Go to the matinee for $8.

The trailer revealed virtually nothing, so I'm not sure how you already have the feeling it's going to suck. Well, unless you're a super fanboy, and no one cares about those pee-pants virgins who still play with their dolls.

My buddy and I already plan to see it in the cheapo theater :) Though I did just sign up for Moviepass so I could go that route too I guess...

This is of course a personal preference, I hope for the sake of all of us I am wrong and the film is great...just doesnt smell that way to me.
