Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

I have the full version. It's a marathon. But when you think of the casualty rates of the UBoat crews, it is a fitting tribute.

And I recommend the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven.

I've heard that about Kingdom; apparently it's similar to Red Cliff where the actual meat of the story was left on the cutting room floor to appease the theaters.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

Do you two have to fight like a married couple in every thread? Just **** and be done with it already :p

And no offense but just cause critics like a movie doesnt mean it is good. I can name plenty of movies the critics loved that made me scratch my head over their findings. Critics are just people too and they have just as much chance of liking crap as anyone else.

Yes, I get that. Wasn’t my intention. What I wanted everyone to read was the actual write up. The explanation of why Ebert likes it was pretty much my experience with the movie.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

I googled this movie you 2 are arguing about. I got as far as the first line, that said it was a sci-fi movie, and I decided I had no interest. Sci-fi sucks.

Sky On Fire:

Chinese movie about a Chief Of Security for a medical research lab that has stem cell cures for cancer. He must keep it out of the wrong hands.

Basically a popcorn movie that wants to be more, but that darn action keeps getting in the way. Meh.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

Went to see Jumanji (the sequel) on Wednesday. I was hoping just to watch something mindlessly entertaining and feel better, but I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. I am not a Kevin Hart fan and I don't love Jack Black, but I enjoyed both of them in their roles and the Rock was great. It was a fun action movie.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

I had no interest in seeing the original with Robin Williams and even less to see the remake. Then I saw a trailer for it while seeing another movie and thought it actually looked pretty good. I didn’t go see it, but I’m not saying I wouldn’t ever. 😀

Anyway, saw this list on Twitter:

50 Excellent Movies You’ve Probably Never Seen

I’ve seen two of them, heard of a few more. How about the rest of you?

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

During the Super Bowl there will be several trailers for upcoming releases, including Red Sparrow, Mission Impossible 6, Avengers, Black Panther and a 45-second tease of the Solo trailer that will debut tomorrow on GMA. The Skyscraper trailer will be on the Tonight Show after the game.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

Seen 9, but the ones I have seen were strong enough that I will give many of the others a look. There were definitely a few in there that I deliberately did not see.

I am shocked Withnail & I wasn't one of them. It's that kind of list.

I’m most excited that Bad Robot has their hand in MI. That excites me. A lot.

They (he) have done amazing work with everything coming out of that production group.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

Appears as a list for me.
I’ve seen 7 of those but haven’t heard of the rest

Bubba Ho-Tep (awesome!!)
Iron Giant
Love and Basketball
Moon (also awesome. I own it)
Primer (should be on everyone’s list)

I’m a little disappointed Brick wasn’t on that list. Phenomenal movie.

But there were some on that list that I went "Oh, yeah, I forgot about that movie. I need to Netflix it."
