Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

I prefer to keep my sanity, but thanks!

No, they're amazing. Keep in mind that the people reviewing willingly and sincerely chose to attend a movie called Christian Mingle in the first place. They thought it was too mawkish, insipid, formulaic, and insincere. It's the equivalent of Trump supporters saying, "too low brow."

You board a long distance train or plane flight. As you board, you see Steven Seagal and Liam Neeson sitting in the same row.

I go rent a car.

Ask the flight attendant for a pillow. I'm going to sleep easy knowing that whatever is about to happen, that plane will reach its destination.

Since we're all clearly in 1st class I'd ask the FA to bring us a bottle of their finest scotch with three glasses, then sit back and listen to them tell stories about banging Kelly LeBrock and Natasha Richardson.

Wonder why Liam Neeson and I are on an Aeroflot flight?

Tell both of them they need to stop picking sh*tty movies for easy pay. Especially Neeson. Seagal was never good to begin with, so he's probably irredeemable at this point.

Hey, he was awesome in Machete! Total self-parody at that point, in the minds of intelligent movie-goers. ;)

Finally saw Goon 2, it was forever a wait in the queue. Meh. A couple funny moments, good but predictable ending. Jay Baruchel still needs to learn that spewing obscenities with a lame joke doesn't make the joke funnier. Write better jokes. Liev Schreiber excels at his role of Ross Rhea, the offhand comments are perfect. Probably the funniest moments of the movie, because they are so true to that life he leads.

6 Souls: a forensic scientist finds that her latest subject's personalities are past murder victims. Sounds awesome, right? Total mind bender? Nope. It goes supernatural. I shut it off after 30 minutes, once it was confirmed that was the direction it took.

Blackway: a stalkee teams up with an old-timer logger to turn the tables against the stalker. It's about what you would expect. I suppose it's worth rating it a time-killer. Nothing more, though.

Get Out

There’s 100 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. That movie sucked ***. Interesting concept but it never had a chance.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

How that movie got a 99% on RT is, I don’t know the word but it’s beyond stupefying.

It’s basically a more artsy Human Centipede.

Re: Movies! The Last Jedi: Ragnarok

I needed movie redemption and work was awful today so I watched Ratatouille. Easily one of my favorite animated films.

I am actually surprised you say that, for real. I had no idea what I was in for, and I thought it was quite good. Not only was the story good, but the injected social commentary was spot on.

According to the Golden Globes it was one of the best five comedies of 2017.

Paddington: Not bad. Lots of heart. Lots of charm. It was meant for kids and it's great for them. Adults will need to seriously suspend their disbelief for the entire movie (and not just because of the talking bear). I can give this movie a 7.5 The sequel opens this week and is supposed to have the same heart.

I think you referenced the wrong post.
