Movies: Poor Things, Barbie and Oppenheimer are stuck in La La Land

Lol, Baha'i. They're like Unitarian Univeralists for the Sky Daddy religions. Take the teetotaling and annual fast from Islam, the prohibition on engaging in politics and nationalism from JWs, and the sexual monogamy and LGBTQ hate from all of them. Oh, and they openly dislike the poor (begging, asceticism, and mendicant lifestyles are forbidden). A real fun bunch.

I thought Bahai was exactly like UU and they were all ecumenical university professors. They hate LGBTQ? That's news to me. I thought they were all "hate has no home here" but zone the homeless shelter away from the Whole Foods.

"Sage" driving out evil spirits by burning incense? Or "Sage" affecting older mentor male wisdom to get you into bed?

The burning evil spirit kind
he also apparently told her about his former porn addiction
and cried for 4 hours in her trailer to her because people online were saying she looked old and not hot enough

Watched Conclave on Saturday. Pretty good! Sunday night I watched Red One. I liked it way more than I thought I would.

Watching some Christmas movies and struck by how much $365mm was when trading places was made. That amount ruined the Duke brothers. And they were 1% of 1%

The Banshees of Inisherin came out a coupla years ago, and I finally caught up with it about a month ago on FXM, taped it, and watched it last night. If you like dark comedies this is a good one.
I've gotta find In Bruges that has Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson together in another dark comedy.

Did you see Civil War?
My god. I don’t think I could have lasted in a theater for that one, saw it on hbo max

Just watched it and.... woooooowwwwww. I've heard stories from reporters/photo journalists and this movie nailed it. To get the shot, be part of the action, to not "interfere," and get out of the way of your own head. Wow.

The Jesse Plemons scene was way more tense than the trailer even let on. The absolue cold-bloodedness in his delivery.

Also, sooooooo weird hearing actual gunfire not audio-mixed to "sound powerful" nor was it drowned out by music. It stood on its own in an unnerving way.

What a good film.
