I'm super pumped to see that James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD is getting spectacular reviews right out of the box as the embargo lifted earlier today. A couple reviewers that I trust and have similar views on specifically pointed out how Gunn has once again crafted characters and made you feel for them in the movie, despite what you see when you look at a guy called POLKA DOT MAN or RAT CATCHER 2.

Im really happy to see that Gunn has landed on his feet and that he didn't lose any of his artistic character building ability, as that is what makes GotG such a beloved corner of the MCU.

It could end up being the best DCU movie, which I guess would put in somewhere between Thor 2 and Iron Man 2 is the MCU scale?

What about Nolan's batman poop? Isn't that considered DCU?

FWIW, I thought WW was better than almost every MCU movie. Though after that... stinko.

From the daily trivia list at GPL:

Of the 75 highest-grossing films worldwide of all time (according to Box Office Mojo) four were released before 2000.

I only got 2 of the 4. All 4 are extremely recognizable.

Star Wars, Titanic, Snow White, Gone with the Wind?

Or, since I'm guessing this would be gross and not inflation-adjusted,

Star Wars, Titanic, E.T., and Jaws?

Yeah the list is not adjusted for inflation - I'd assume it would be vastly different if so.

You got one while one of your misses I also guessed wrong.

I missed that it was worldwide, I was thinking domestic. (Otherwise I was like WTF, I know the first 2 of my guesses were 1 and 2 iwell into the nineties, cause I remember the news when Titanic dethroned Star Wars as the domestic box office champ).

Having looked it up, the 3 misses were all floating around in my mind. Probably should've gotten one regardless, and I'd like to think I would've guessed at least one more had I realized we were talking world wide.

Assume they are all American?

My guesses:

Godfather
Lion King
Titanic
Jurassic Park

I would have guessed E.T. but it was shot down below.

More fun game: highest grossing film by decade. That way you don't really have to worry about adjustments.

My guesses:

20 F9
10 Some MCU Crap. Endgame?
00 Avatar
90 Titanic
80 ET
70 The Godfather
60 The Sound of Music
50 The Ten Commandments
40 Fantasia... if that was the 40s
30 Gone with the Wind
20 The Jazz Singer
10 Birth of a Nation

imho this is a more interesting list which is adjusted for inflation. Top 10. 5 different decades represented and nothing since 1997. I am surprised Jurassic Park didn't make this list. Jaws was one that I guessed wrong from the previous list.
